- When two criminals, a crooked banker and a so not trustworthy fence trade valuable religious stolen icons for cash, they find themselves with a new problem- the money they have received has been market by Interpol. And so taking the advice of the crooked banker they decided the best way to "wash" the money, clean is to go to Hollywood to make movies or at least to pretend to make movies. With this intention they arrive to Hollywood and settle in as big tycoons of show business. First they engage a young and brilliant assistant whose deep knowledge of making films bely her youthful age. Taking profit of her knowledge and know- how, they engage her friend a drunken writer, who she is trying to rehabilitate so he can re-claim the career he once had. The crooks are well-received at Beverly Hills wild parties, where they start to plot their swindle without a slightest intention to produce a film. Their assistant begins to see through their plot but is seduced by the banker who has an in exhaustible capacity to lie and deceit. He may not want to make the film but she has other ideas. After accidently circulated some of the market money, the police begin to move in on the crooked crew. Surprisingly they are not interested in the crew. Will the film be made? Will our criminals heroes will get away? And what of the assistant and he alcoholic writer? All will be revealed in the end of this dark and funny comedy in the vein of Get Shorty and The Player.—Doug Shaffer/Ken DuBow
- A group of beggars, smugglers and other criminals from Eastern Europe go to West in search for bread, glamour and prosperity. In the course of illegal activities in connection with delinquents of diverse countries, they amass a fortune in "spotted" dollars that they can't use. How will they clean the money? A Spanish swindler by the nickname of Xavier advises them to invest in international movies, where they can easily erase the tracks. With this intention they arrive to Hollywood and settle there as big tycoons of show business. Xavier engages Sister (nickname) as secretary. Sister is insignificant in looks, but an expert in cinema. . Taking profit of her knowledge and know-how, Xavier engages the cheapest directors, ghost writers, stand-in, stuntmen, featured players... who had been the traditional working basis for Hollywood grandeur. Xavier is well received at Beverly wild parties, where he starts the plots to swindle known distributors, TV stations executives, theatre owners...Xavier hasn't got the slightest intention to produce films. He expects for great results in swindles and fleeing with the booty to Singapore. Sister does not agree with Xavier 'methods, but is seduced by his inexhaustible capacity for lie and deceit. Eventually they become lovers. Xavier has acquired an elementary knowledge of marketing expertise, with which he is able to convince investors to risk in movies based on established formulas of success. Xavier mistakenly pays a prostitute with "spotted" banknote. Policemen are discreetly investigating some scandals in Beverly Hills, where politicians, financial men, screen stars are involved. Police detects Xavier 'doubtful past as a jailbird. But police is surprisingly not interested in Xavier, but in a Serbian rascal who came to Hollywood with him. The reason will be known at the end.
