Hmm... Call this a preview.

For an independent, low-budget film, it looks surprisingly hopeful. But from what I've seen from the trailer, Ghost doesn't look very convincing (not manly enough) and Price's accent sounds ridiculous. Americans just can't seem to get the accent right, it changes from posh English ("Open this door!") to like, South African or something. It really sounds a bit stupid sometimes. But Shephard looks pretty good. From the looks of the FPS viewpoint they're utilising, it looks like it will make this the first film that will get it spot-on, rather than embarrassing. Let's wait and see. Just thought I'd write this now. But well done to the team for giving it a go and recreating the set in such a realistic way. Just expect a few cringe-worthy scenes along with some impressive ones.

Cool little fan film/recreation even if it doesn't move anything anywhere

Although at the time Infinity Ward came out to deny that this film was anything to do with them, they must have been grateful for the publicity that this little fan film brought them. I had never seen this film until after MW3 and I was curious to see how close they got things with their "preview" – which is what I thought it was. Actually what Find Makarov does is recreate some of the moments from Modern Warfare 2 but in live action. Specifically it is the end of the game intercut with bits from along the way.

As such it has limited appeal because we have all seen these scenes done better in the game, but to be fair it is still a cool 3 minute short. A big reason for this is that the special effects are very impressive considering that this is just a fan piece. The recreated sets and set-pieces are pretty impressive throughout and although limited in budget they are shot well to maximise impact without being overly scrutinised. The cast don't match up to the effects though and they are only so-so, nothing compared to the voice actors in the game. Price is the best/worst example as his accent is all over the place and fans will be disappointed.

Despite this though the short is still pretty cool as a novelty – it doesn't progress us anywhere but it is a nice distraction.
