After exploring the tumults of French politics in “Baron Noir,” Oscar-nominated French-Lebanese filmmaker Ziad Doueiri immerses audiences into the rough world of French Special Forces in Iraq in “Dark Hearts.”
Ordered by Amazon Prime Video in France, “Dark Hearts” is set on the eve of the battle for Mosul in October 2016 and follows the lives of men and women who are part of a commando group deployed in Iraq to fight Isis. They are tasked with exfiltrating the daughter and grandson of an important Isis leader who will only cooperate with them on this condition.
Doueiri, who started his career in Hollywood working as a first assistant camera on movies like Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs,” was always curious about war movies but thought of them as a genre pre-empted by American filmmakers. So when French producer Gilles de Verdière at Mandarin Télévision approached him with the pitch for “Dark Hearts,...

*there are spoilers here. Director: Daniel Krige. Writers: Jonathon Green and Anthony O'Connor. Cast: Nicholas Hope, Kelly Paterniti, Sam Reid, Alan Dukes, James Mackay, and Hayley McElhinney. Redd Inc. is an Australian shot horror film, which was originally titled Inhuman Resources. This is truly an independent film, that was partially financed through crowd funding. Redd Inc. is also a tale of an office worker's worst nightmare. Thomas Reddmann keeps his five workers literally chained to their desks, while needling them to work harder. Shot primarily on one location, Redd Inc. can sometimes look drab, but the film's characterizations and especially the lead villain create for an exceptionally good time. Thomas Reddmann is accused of several axe-murders. Reddmann was able to escape the local mental rehabilitation unit, after he is found guilty. He puts his time to good use. Soon, Reddmann has abducted five characters, each of whom are involved in his case.

Tagline: "Heads will roll." There is another horror movie coming out of the American Film Market that fans should be aware of. Redd Inc. aka Inhuman Resources brings plenty of bloodstains and mutilated bodies. A serial killer has set up shop in a local corporation and he has hired six new recruits. Except, these staff members were hired against their will. Now, they must prove their boss is innocent of murder. This seems an impossible task as each staff member is tortured and some are even "terminated." Redd Inc. will show at the Afm November 5th and a trailer is available here before the show. In the clip, the six employees have their mistakes scrawled across their face, while Thomas Redmann (Nicholas Hope), the boss, chooses who advances and who falls to the wayside. Have a look at the brutal clip below. Showing Date: November 5th (Afm). Director: Daniel Krige.

One of the most intriguing rising talents in Australia, the ever-luminous Sarah Snook, has been announced as the co-lead alongside Sam Reid in the upcoming adaptation of Andrew Masterson's novel The Second Coming. Much-cited as one of David Fincher's final choices for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Snook has been quietly building up an array of impressive performances since her breakout role in Sisters of War. She was easily the best thing about the ill-conceived (heh) promiscuous procreation comedy Not Suitable For Children, and last week was also announced as part of the key cast for apocalyptic thriller These Final Hours. Sam Reid's been quietly amassing his own string of impressive roles. He scored a role in HBO's mini-series Hatfields & McCoys, was in horror-comedy Redd Inc., and has an upcoming...

While looking back at my viewing for this year, I have seen a lot of genre films, and actually I have seen a lot of really good ones. I had been surprised quite a lot this year, and I wasn’t sure if anything else this could do that. I was proved wrong with Redd Inc. (Inhuman Resources is the Us title), not only did this film surprise me, but also it is one of the best genre films I have seen this year. This is a great film, not just a great genre film, there is so much to enjoy and embrace here.
Our storyline here is very intriguing, with a setting that is very brave and it works like a charm. Six people wake up chained in an office, to desks by a man named Thomas Reddmann (Nicholas Hope), an escaped killer. His...

Gore guru Tom Savini has not abandoned horror; merely stepped aside. The FX artist has focused on acting and directing, while giving FX work to students. But a new film, Redd Inc. has lured him back. Redd Inc. is about a boss who " traps his victims and forces them to work in an horrific office of his own insane creation. They are tasked with a seemingly impossible job which they must complete or face a grisly termination." Savini handpicked Nick Nicolau and Paul Katte, and their company Makeup Effects Group (Meg) to splash about a bit of the red stuff. After the jump, check out Savini's video announcement about the project.
