Everything is relative...

Warning: Spoilers
***Mild spoilers as to themes but not the ending*** An intriguing road trip film that progressively grew on me. Son Timo is a concert pianist with with many pressures and problems. Out of the blue appears his long lost father, Leo, something of a free spirit, a flouter of ocnvention and a teller of koan-like tales, whom he hasn't seen since he was two. Leo seemingly wants to form a connection and make up for lost time. But father and son couldn't be more dissimilar- and something is awry- their memories don't jibe. What does Leo want and why has he appeared?

It took me a while to warm up to the characters but as their adventures ensued, and each learned more about the other's life, the gulf between them began to narrow, and I became more emotionally invested. One of those films where the ending brings everything into sharp focus, and in a surprising and satisfying way. Recommended!

A story about a father who shows up after being absent for 35 years. The old man is is a crazy, unpredictable troublemaker. But stay with it. He has a good heart.
