- First Officer Murdoch's view that the ship is moving too fast is proved right when, with no binoculars to see ahead, she strikes an iceberg. Mabel is locked in a cabin by chance but is rescued by Ken Barnes to give her a copy of his will, leaving her his house. Jim's eldest daughter Theresa runs back into the ship and he searches for her with Lubov. Lubov frees Mario before going missing as father and daughter await their doom below decks. Aware that Hugh has another illegitimate child, Louisa agrees to get away in order to look after her and Georgiana. Guggenheim and valet Giglio dress in their best to bravely await death and Astor bids his young wife farewell. Unlike Harry, Jack Thayer eventually succeeds while Ismay makes his escape - for which he will always be condemned. But despite the gallant efforts of Fifth Officer Lowe, in command of the only lifeboat to return to pick up survivors from the freezing water, over a thousand of the voyagers are lost.—don @ minifie-1
- With the ship's crew unable to prevent the imminent collision, the passengers of the luxury liner RMS Titanic find themselves confronted with the freezing waters of the North Atlantic Ocean after the devastating strike of the towering iceberg. As sheer panic takes over, Paolo does everything in his power to save Mario, Jim's family is in grave danger, and Watson faces certain death. And on 15 April 1912, at about 2:20 am, the ship broke in half, and she sank on her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, to New York City, with hundreds of people still clinging to the stern. When the RMS Carpathia arrived on the scene, they were too late.—Nick Riganas
