- All four turtle ninjas are enamored with four different female characters (Leo has a secret crush on Karai, Donnie harbors an innocent crush on April, Raph is smitten with Mona Lisa and Mikey is in love with Renet).
- In two episode (Vengeance is Mine and Broken Foot), Karai seductively approaches Leonardo, puts her hand on his shoulder, leans in close to his face and smiles. (This may seem seductive). Leo becomes captivated by her beauty and it looks like they're about to kiss but instead, she apologizes the tortoise and betrays him by throwing knockout gas before leaving to fight Shredder alone.
- Similar to previous incarnations, Leonardo has secret romantic feelings for Karai. It's not as obvious and harmonious as Donnie's innocent crush to April since this is a turbulent, quarrelsome, complex love-hate relationship (similar to Batman and Catwoman) overshadowed by multiple sword duels between the duo (who come from different sides) though there are some scenes where he flirts (being all romantic) with her.
- The Turtles sometimes flirt with their female love interests (use phrases like "Your dancing is HOT."), show their heart eyes when they're commended, embraced and passionately kissed on the cheek (briefly) by their girlfriend. They also make jokes about each other's crush in a flirtatious manner, using name-calling like "Romeo", "love monkey", "sweetheart", "princess", "lovebird", as well as making kissy face smooches. It's all played for laughs and not too sexy.
- Occasional flirting, embracing, kissing, and innuendo between the Turtles and their girlfriends; teenage crushes; discussion of girls' looks. Teens tease each other in a flirtatious way (in some scenes, the Turtles pester each other about having a secret crush on their love interests). In at least one episode scene, Mikey mentions being freaked out after finding out where babies come from.
- Various female characters at times wear clothing that is tight-fitting or low-cut.
- Mona Lisa grabs Raph to her suggestively.
- As soon as Raph impresses Mona Lisa she says, in a very seductive voice, that their noses "shall meet in the flesh" and later says, also in a seductive voice, that she want's to have a "one on one training session" next time they meet.
- Raph and Mona kiss just after they meet and they make out 3 times in just 1 episode when they see each other again.
- Mona Lisa stops Raph from telling her that he loves her and they don't take time to get to know each other at all before they start obsessively kissing.
- Raph teases Donnie for just analyzing sewage with April instead of being all romantic with her.
- Donatello (aka Donnie) has an innocent crush on April, but doesn't do a good job at keeping it a secret. He is very sweet, protective, kind and devoted to her. On occasion she does commend, embrace and kiss Donnie on the cheek a few times, but for the most part, she remains anxious and just treats him like a freak for loving and flirting with her cause he's a mutant.
- Casey Jones pinches April's butt, she runs up and hugs him a couple of times, they go to the movies together, and the looks on their faces makes their relationship seem suggestive.
- Mikey appears to make out with Ice Cream Kitty in the "Of Mice and Men" episode.
- Their are 2 close up kissing scenes in the shows that the turtles watch.
Violence & Gore

- The Turtles are trained in martial arts-style fighting and wield traditional weapons like nunchaku and sai on their enemies, who often retaliate with more modern weapons like guns. There are also plenty of hand-to-hand exchanges, many culminating in the stabbings or dismemberment of the monsters and aliens the Turtles face. It's not bloody in the traditional sense, but the victims do short circuit or gush alien goo, slime and ink that looks like blood.
- There's a lot of violence to the show, as the heroes wield ninja weapons like bostaffs, nunchaku, and sai against the villains' guns and laser blasters. None of the exchanges get bloody, but aliens and monsters ooze/spurt bodily fluids like slime, goo, and ink after they're stabbed or dismembered. Martial arts fighting from various characters are quite heavy, MUCH heavier than the 1987 series. The series' action, violence and suspense is also much more realistic than the 1987 series.
- Like the 2003 series, there's plenty of martial arts action violence throughout as the Turtles engage in physical violent exchanges (punching, kicking, stomping, etc.) with villains There are realistic chases and crashes. Characters are punched, kicked, hit, whipped, stomped, knocked down, beaten up, run over, slashed, scratched, stabbed, dismembered, decapitated, shot, bombed, even hit and crushed by falling objects and debris. There are black eyes, cracked ribs, scratches, bruises, and broken bones. Plus, some fight scenes show a knife or sword blade grazing past a character's head (trimming the Turtles' headband or cutting off a characters' few bangs).
- Casey Jones repeatedly beats Donnie with a hockey stick in the "Weird World of Wyrm" episode and laughs at him when he's stuck in a thorn patch.
- Casey Jones knocks April down with a hockey puck when they first meet, pushes her multiple times, and even kicked her once to try and wake her.
- There are multiple sword battles between Leo and his love interest Karai. Some are brief, mild and playful sparring, while others are brutal and intensely climactic.

- Occasional name-calling insults like "stupid", "jerk", "idiot", "meathead", "bonehead", "shut up", "coward", "moron", "punk", "loser", "freak", "shellbrain", "nimrod", "chump", "wimp", "windbag", "sucker", "lemonhead", "jerkface", "buttface", "jerkbag", "dummy", "brat", "brick head", "dirt-bag", "scum", "pumpkin head", "scoundrel", "dang", "darn", "heck", and "gosh".
- The Turtle ninjas also mouth off, sneer and trash talk with each other and to the villains with smart-mouth insult phrases. Examples include (but not limited to): "I miss your stupid face," "Shut up you idiot/meathead/bonehead," "Let's bust/bash some heads," "I'll shove your head in the sewer!," "I'll kick your butt," "Stick it in your ear," "I'm gonna stick/shove this sword up your..." and ruder phrases such as "I'll punch your face off and knock you down/beat you up," and "We're standing here like idiots picking our noses!"
- Like any other Nickelodeon show, characters use name-calling insults like "stupid", "idiot," "loser," "jerk", "shut up," "heck", "freak", etc.
- Like the 2003 series, words like "heck" and "shell" are used in place of the word "hell" such as "shellbrain", and "shellraiser". The Turtles use "heck" and especially "shell" as a euphemism; phrases such as "oh, shell" and "what the shell".
- Raph almost swears in the "Beyond the Known Universe" episode, but Donnie stops him.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- This is a fairly violent show (similar to the 2003 series) about four turtle brothers who team up to battle monsters, gangsters, aliens, and just about any other villains and super-villains you could think of. Scary scenes show the Turtles fighting with an undead army of scary monsters with decapitations and dismemberment, body parts being chopped off (bloodlessly), lots of weapons and fighting, which can be seriously intense.
- Scary moments involve hideous monsters growling, lurking in the shadows or grimacing or popping into sight quickly. Expect some shocking and scary moments that will frighten very young kids such as the Turtles thrown off guard (attacked by surprise with weapons) and the menacing presence of an evil villain lurking in the shadows attacking the Turtle ninjas in a very scary ambush.
- Other TV rating is called TV-PG (V).
- Some characters are mutated and the mutants (who are ugly, brutal, feral and homicidal) can creep some people out, especially when they violently ambush the protagonists when the audience least expects it.
- One character named the Muck Man has an eyeball that comes in and out in a very disturbing way.
- The Turtles often have several falling outs and bickering (some of which end badly as violent arguments). They are shown angrily yelling and confronting each other in a frightening manner.
- This show has several dark and ominous supernatural themes (not as much as the 2003 series but still fairly intense). Many villains and terrifying supervillains the Turtles face are grotesque and scary monsters, vampires, zombies, ghosts, scary mummies, (esp zombie mummies), mummy pharohs, scary skeletons, scary werewolves, witches, bats, insects, aliens, wolves, beasts, ugly trolls, demon bats, and ugly, scary demons. Scary moments involve them growling, snarling, hissing, disfiguring, lurking in the shadows in haunted scary forests, grimacing and popping into sight abruptly, causing jumpscares, which can be seriously terrifying and startling to some younger viewers. Even the Turtles freak out (this is for comedic effect).

Sex & Nudity
- After finally destroying the Super Shredder in the Season 4 finale, Karai and Leonardo's interactions soften in general. From holding hands at the hospital to sitting together on the rooftop and comforting each other in the aftermath of the final battle, it's obvious that whether their romance is platonic or something more, their old tensions have been replaced by a much healthier, closer and affectionate bond with a more romantic pairing.

- In "Annihilation: Earth" Michelangelo says "Kick their jurassics". This is likely to fly over kids heads.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- In the episode "Requiem", the Super Shredder finally manages to slay Spinter in cold blood. Since they don't have Fugitoid or Renet around anymore to help them, it's unlikely to resurrect him. When Shredder lands the finishing blow, Raphael and April yell "Father!" and "Splinter!" in anguish. We see the rat's body fall off the rooftop while the Turtles scream in horror (in slow motion). The turtles' final moments with their deceased father is heartbreaking. Leonardo holds Splinter's body while saying "No! Please!", Michelangelo only says a meek "Papa...", and all four turtles weep while memories with Splinter flash on the screen. They then carry the body like pallbearers and drive away...
