Having Renée Rapp revive her role as Regina George for the film adaptation of Mean Girls: The Musical was really a genius move from producers Lorne Michaels and Tina Fey. Obviously, her stint in the show on Broadway made her intricately familiar with the character. But Rapp’s newly solidified presence in the pop music arena also made her the perfect trojan horse for the movie, out Jan. 12 — which still doesn’t have a single trailer make clear that it’s actually a full-fledged musical.

NBC’s The Voice brought Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani together after Shelton’s divorce from country superstar Miranda Lambert and Stefani’s divorce from rocker Gavin Rossdale. While Stefani and Shelton seemed like an unlikely duo, they have tons of fun together, especially around the holidays. Given what Lambert said in the past about having Christmas with Shelton, it seems like she and Stefani have similar traditions.

It’s a holiday gift — 65 years in the making!
On Monday, Brenda Lee’s holiday classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song’s distinction arrives a whopping 65 years after it was first released when she was just 13 years old, breaking the record for longest climb to No. 1.
With this distinction, Lee also surpassed the 25-year gap between Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” release in 1994 and its ascent to the top in 2019.
Billboard shared a video of Lee’s reaction to the news.

Brenda Lee may have received the greatest gift of the holiday season: for the first time, her holiday classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” has gone No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Written by Johnny Marks, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was originally recorded and released in 1958. It previously peaked at No. 2 in 2019, but was propelled to No. 1 in 2023 thanks in part to a newly released music video coinciding with the song’s 65th anniversary. Lee also joined TikTok.
In topping the charts with “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” the 78-year-old Lee has made history as the oldest artist to ever achieve a No. 1 single.
Lee previously earned No. 1 singles for “I’m Sorry” in July 1960 and “I Want To Be Wanted” in October 1960. The nearly 65 years between those two singles and her latest chart-topper sets a record for the longest stretch in Billboard history. Accordingly, Lee also broke the record...

It’s time to make “fetch” happen — or, at least, time to eat “fetch” food.
In anticipation of the new “Mean Girls” movie, the media experience brand Bucket Listers is launching their “Mean Girls Experience” in Los Angeles and New York.
The pop-up dining experience will debut in Los Angeles on Jan. 12 — the same day the Paramount Pictures movie premieres in theaters — and in New York on Jan. 19. Venues, exact dates and time slots are yet to be announced.
Like the original 2004 film and the Broadway musical, “Mean Girls” follows Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) as she enters the world of high school and falls into the superficial world of The Plastics, led by Regina George (Reneé Rapp), who rule the school. After Cady develops a crush on Regina’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself at the center of a plot to sabotage Regina and manifest her downfall...
