Despite being critically panned, an under-performer at the box office and the second-worst film of Arnold Schwarzenegger's '90s career (after Batman & Robin), Jingle All the Way has miraculously spawned a sequel.
There's no place for Arnie in the belated follow-up, however, as Larry the Cable Guy takes on the role of a laid-back dad struggling to get his daughter the sought-after Harrison Bear for Christmas.
A co-production between 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios, the comedy features wrestler Santino Marella in a prominent role with Brian Stepanek, Kristen Robek and Kennedi Clements in the cast.
Director Alex Zamm, whose previous credits include Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 and Inspector Gadget 2, is pulling a double shift as the voice of the bear.
Jingle All the Way 2 will be heading straight to DVD and Blu-ray on December 2.

WWE Studios and Twentieth Century Fox are partnering on a pair of sequels - a sequel to the 1996 Schwarzenegger holiday comedy "Jingle All The Way" and a fourth film in the Dtv "The Marine" franchise.
Larry the Cable Guy and WWE’s Santino Marella will topline the 'Jingle' sequel which Alex Zamm will direct. Filming begins in March with a direct to disc and VOD release planned for the holiday.
Larry and Zamm previously worked together on another direct-to-disc & VOD comedy sequel based on a theatrical release with a major action star - "Tooth Fairy 2".
Meanwhile, WWE's Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin and Diva Summer Rae will star in "The Marine 4". Mizanin returns to the franchise following his effort starring in the third film last year.
Like the various sequels in the series, it'll go direct to disc and streaming later in the year.

A sequel to the greatest Christmas film of all time is finally being made, without its original star.
It's Turbo Time again. But not the Turbo Time you remember. That Turbo Time is gone forever, like a a fart from Ted the Reindeer in the winter wind. Admit it: Jingle All the Way is a guilty pleasure that is best consumed in secret every holiday, like cheap boxed wine. Even now, the classic lines from that film are running through your head with a bad Austrian accent tied to it.
If you felt a great disturbance in the Force today, it was because millions of Jingle All the Way fans screamed out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Continuing his reign as the champion of the lowest common denominator, human catchphrase Larry the Cable Guy is set to “git r done” in a straight-to-video sequel to the 1996 film Jingle All the Way.
The original starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad as two rivals fighting to get their kid the last of a much-sought-after Christmas toy, probably only to learn the real meaning of the holiday by the end of the film. I haven’t actually seen it; that’s just a hunch. No plot details have been given about the new film, but it is set to co-star WWE’s Santino Marella, who might be someone you know if you’re into watching two oiled-up guys rassle around while pretending to hate each other’s guts.
What are the odds that the sequel will rehash the plot of the first film, once again following two fathers who need to...

Crikey. You win a biscuit if you saw this one coming. 20th Century Fox and WWE Studios are teaming up to make a very belated sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy, Jingle All The Way.
The movie is set to be directed by Alex Zamm, who helmed the straight to DVD sequel Tooth Fairy 2. Jingle All The Way 2 will not be seeing the inside of a cinema either, nor will Arnold Schwarzenegger be in it. Instead, Larry The Cable Guy will be taking the lead this time around.
Fox and WWE Studios are also planning a further sequel to The Marine. The Marine 4 will star Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin.

The short story goes... in August 2011, Eddie Murphy teamed up with director Alex Zamm (Tooth Fairy 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2) to make a live-action version of the classic cartoon Hong Kong Phooey. We must have missed the announcement of the project, because, I checked the S&A archives and didn't find any posts on it. Over a year later, the movie obviously hasn't happened; will it? I dunno. I don't think I particularly care either, especially if the video below is anything to go by. All that's left of the project is some test footage that was shot for it, and that has surfaced. Apparently Zamm released the footage online, via his Vimeo...

Last year, Warner Bros announced that it is developing a live-action "Hong Kong Phooey" film, to be directed by Alex Zamm ((Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Tooth Fairy 2) and voiced by Eddie Murphy. It's not clear what the status of the project is, but Zamm has now unveiled test footage from the movie. Check it out below, in addition to footage from the live-action "Marvin the Martian" movie, which Zamm has been also attached to. "Hong Kong Phooey" revolves around a mild-mannered dog, named Penry, who, after stumbling into a mystic ceremony, is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. Under the tutelage of his kung fu master and with the help of his sidekick, Spot the cat, Penry dons a costume and becomes a crime fighter. "Marvin the Martian" movie was announced back in 2008 and is based on a classic "Looney Tunes" character.

Director Alex Zamm has produced some of the most asinine movies you ever saw on a DVD shelf. From Carrot Top's Chairman Of The Board to Inspector Gadget 2 to Tooth Fairy 2 and an upcoming new version of The Little Rascals, Zamm is essentially the go-to guy for all those Dtv sequels and prequels that leave you shaking your head with "just why?" rolling off your tongue. With that said, I have to give Zamm at least a little credit for this test reel for adaptations...

Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and the rest of the Little Rascals are getting another feature film treatment. Universal Pictures is planning another film, and they've hired Alex Zamm to direct it. Does the world really need another Little Rascals movie? No. But it's happening.
Did any of you like the 1994 Little Rascals big screen adaptation? I thought it was terrible. For those of you not even familiar with this franchise, it's based on a cinematic series called Our Gang, which aired during late 1930s and ‘40s. It was adapted for television in the '50s. I will say if that make this reboot a period piece that takes place in the '30s that might be interesting, but chances are they'll just give it a modern update for audiences like they did in '94.
As for the director, Zamm, there's a reason you've never heard of him, he's made films such as.

File this one under “I’m sorry, what?” Universal already made some unexpected mint with their Three Stooges reboot from earlier this year, so why not give that same treatment to something like, oh, how about The Little Rascals? What, you don’t care about The Little Rascals? Moviehole (via Cinema Blend) reports that Universal is rebooting the classic ’30s and ’40s television show Our Gang for a new feature that will also draw inspiration from the 1994 feature film that attempted to make the cute-kids-being-tricksters trope feel more modern, with surprisingly okay results (that one also came from Uni). The film doesn’t yet have a cast, but they’ve lined up one heck of a director. The new Rascals will be helmed by one Alex Zamm, possessor of one of the most boggling resumes in current circulation. Hey, someone needs to direct the straight-to-video Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, right? Right...

When we first announced the season finale date for "The Vampire Diaries", May 10th seemed a long way off, but now? Not so much. To help ease the pain a bit, we have some preliminary details of what we can expect from the episode along with a look at some people we've been curious about for quite some time: Jeremy and Elena's parents!
Thanks to TV Guide, here's your first look at Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert, portrayed by James MacDonald (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, "Love Bites") and Erin Beute (Tooth Fairy 2). "One of the things we want to do in the finale is explore a time for Elena when life was simpler," says executive producer Julie Plec. "She had parents and no vampires in her life."
The episode, which will also feature the return of Sara Canning as Aunt Jenna, includes the accident in which the family car veered off a bridge.

Game of Thrones - The Complete First Season I just started watching this series a couple of days ago and knocked out four episodes in one quick clip and the show itself is great and I imagine those that haven't read the books are loving it. However, I wanted to be sure to read the first book before watching this season and having done so I must admit, for as good as they have done in condensing a ton of material it just doesn't compare. I know it's cliche and obvious to say "the books are better" but in this case there is a massive difference even though so much of what they have done works so well.

Remember that movie “Tooth Fairy” which starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a hockey player who’s forced into tooth-collecting servitude by none other than Stephen Merchant? If not, don’t feel bad. Unless you’re under the age of five and/or have atrocious taste in motion pictures, there’s a very strong chance that you missed it. Trust me when I say that you can live without it. Apparently someone thought we needed a sequel, one that stars “comedic genius” Larry the Cable Guy. Are we that desperate for entertainment these days that we’re getting follow-ups to movies nobody cared about in the first place? It would appear so. If this tells you anything, Amazon is currently selling “Tooth Fairy 2″, “Hop”, and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” together as one of their taste-tailored package deals. As of late it seems like the folks at Hanna-Barbera are having a garage sale with the rights to their old TV shows. In the past few years we’ve seen a horrid adaptation of Yogi Bear, an even worse Smurfs film (with a 2nd coming 2013), and now Alcon pictures has decided to bring everybody’s number one super guy to the big screen. In what is surely an early warning of the pending 2012 apocalypse, Eddie Murphy has signed to give voice to the Hanna-Barbera character Hong Kong Phooey in a movie that will be a hybrid of live action and animation. Apparently, I was mistaken when I wrote that Hollywood had run out of available cartoons to remake, although I wish to God I wasn't.
If you don't remember, and there's no reason you should, Hong Kong Phooey was about a talking dog (voiced by Scatman Crothers) named Penry whose alter ego is Hong Kong Phooey, a superhero martial arts crime fighter. In the '70s, the animated fighting kung-fu dog Hong Kong Phooey was a minor television favorite, in part thanks to the work Scatman Crothers did voicing the character. Now the mutt is set for a hybrid live-action/animated big-screen revival, in which the late Scatman will be replaced by Eddie Murphy. A press release recaps the show effectively: Based on the 70’s cult classic Hanna Barbera animated TV series, a mild-mannered dog named Penry (Murphy) stumbles into a mystic ceremony and is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. The adaptation will be directed by Alex Zamm (Tooth Fairy 2) for Alcon Entertainment, and is planned as a combination of live action and animation. The story follows "a dog, Penry (to be played by Murphy) who is granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk and do kung fu. It's easy to make fun of Larry the Cable Guy because, let's face it, some of his standup material truly does suck. And the core of his fanbase seems less than. . .discerning. Still, the man has some of the best comic timing of anyone performing right now. He's also crafted his persona to the point that all you have to do is hear the setup and you are laughing before you hear the punchline.
You do know that it is a persona, right? Larry's real name is Daniel Whitney and he doesn't really talk like that. Andy Kaufman could have only dreamed of a stunt like this when he created Tony Clifton. I had the opportunity to speak to him about the character of Mater, what to expect in Cars 2 and whether or not he's ready to leave the cable industry. Here are the highlights of what went down.
