- The liars try to keep their distance from each other; Spencer notches up her suspicions about what is going on in the DiLaurentis house, with Jason moving back in.
- Open with the girls at a movie catching up what might be going on with Melissa and Ian. They hear something and then the film seems to burn, turning the screen white. A figure appears at the front of the theater, jumps at them and then . . . we see it was Spencer's dream. Melissa is digging for her wedding ring when her phone rings. Once again she leaves the room to take the call.
Tom tells Hanna he's going to be sticking in town for a while. It also seems like he and Ashley are getting along well, and Hanna wonders if it's appropriate. Ashley says it's nothing serious.
The girls rendezvous in the bathroom. Emily's scout has written her a recruiting letter, but she doesn't think it's enough of a sure thing for her mom to keep them in town. Aria is taking a class at Ezra's (and his ex's) new college.
Toby drops by some GED paperwork at the school. He tells Spencer he's started a new carpentry job . . . working for Jason. Spencer doesn't like it but he needs the money. She makes him promise not to go inside Jason's house.
Lucas tells Hanna that Caleb is crashing at his place. She tells him about the parents' plan to keep the foursome apart. He agrees to let her help with yearbook.
Ezra and Aria walk together on campus. They talk about how much they enjoy being together and stop for a kiss. We see that Ezra's ex sees this from afar. Aria walks into her new class and its stunned to find Jenna there.
Spencer stops by Jason's place looking for Toby. Although she's seen a male shadow in the second floor window, an unfriendly Jason tells her he's the only one living there.
Spencer tells Emily about the figure at Jason's place. She's sure it's Ian, but doesn't want to tell Toby for fear he'll do something. They hang up and Spencer goes to her window. She's someone in the window and flashes back to Alison complaining to her and Emily about Jason and his friends. She told them if her grandmother knew about his behavior she'd write him out of her will. Alison seems emotional.
Spencer calls Emily back and says she thinks something "ugly" had taken place between Alison and Jason. She wonders where Jason was the night Alison was killed.
Lucas admits having a crush on a girl named Danielle and Hanna tries to talk him into going for it. He doesn't think he has a chance.
Spencer asks Melissa to sleep in the house that night, saying she's scared because of the break-in and the "stuff" she knows about. She implies that Melissa might be protecting Ian over her.
Ezra wonders if Aria could use the class to repair the relationship with Jenna.
Spencer finds Melissa's wedding ring, which she's been looking for.
Hanna overhears Tom arguing with his fiancé over their wedding. He admits that Ashley knows his relationship is tense.
Ashley shows Aria and Hanna a fake letter from the scout saying that if she remains at Rosewood she'll be offered a scholarship. Hanna thinks she should mail it while Aria's not sure.
Jason tells Toby he never thought he was guilty of anything. Spencer shows up and Jason tells her that Melissa has been over a few times. Jason goes inside and Spencer asks Toby to quit. Toby reiterates that he needs the money. Jason knocks over a trash bag and some bloody gauze falls out: "I cut myself," he says.
Aria lies about her name to the professor so Jenna won't know who she is.
Hanna talks up Lucas to Danielle, tells her that she used to have a thing for him.
Spencer takes Melissa's engagement ring to a pawnshop, saying she needs cash for the weekend. The guy gives her $2,000 for the ring. It looks as if someone was watching Spencer at the shop.
Lucas isn't thrilled with Hanna for embellishing about him to Danielle. He isn't sure why she's being so nice to him.
Emily sticks the fake scouting letter into a textbook when her mother comes in the door. Pam gets emotional when talking about Emily having to hide who she was from her own mother. After the conversation she rips up the letter and tosses it in the trash can.
Spencer has used the pawn money to buy Toby the truck he wants. He responds with "I love you so much" and she says "I wanted to say that first."
Hanna watches Ashley and Tom laughing over dinner. She looks down at Tom's phone and sees an apologetic text from his fiancé. She deletes the message.
Jenna asks for help from Aria, still not realizing who she is. She places a candle in her artwork for Jenna and turns off the lights so she can at least see the shadows of what's she's made. Jenna then tells her about swimming and cries when she thinks of sights she misses. Aria talks and Jenna guesses who she is. Jenna then yells for her to blow out the candle.
Pam brings into Emily's room an envelope from the university that was left. Somebody copied her fake letter and delivered. Pam leaves and Emily goes straight for the trash. In it she finds a letter from A: "You can't play cat and mouse if the mouse moves to Texas. I need you here, Em. Congrats!"
Aria tells Hanna and Spencer about Jenna and her feeling like things are work. The three girls decide to follow Melissa. They watch her meet with Wren and take a bag from him. Spencer guesses this is painkillers for Ian.
During the closing credits we see A buying Melissa's engagement ring from the pawnshop.
