Xavier and April continue to light up the screen every time they're on. Or would do if Dexter wasn't in shot with a big black cloud hanging over him. It's a shame that the writers seem determined to ruin what should be the reunion of the year and cast doubt on how long it should last.On the plus side, they are happy and relaxed together, although they'd be excluding Dex even if he wasn't secretly in love with April. There's some fairly decent material between Romeo and Dexter, certainly more so than his increasingly repetitive scenes with Indigo.
It's the day of reckoning for Liam and he makes a mess of it.At least it does seem like there are going to be genuine consequences to his actions rather than the usual reset button.Gina's support of him until she realises just how low he's sunk is nice characterisation.
Meanwhile, Sid and Marilyn suddenly start discussing marriage. It's hard to tell either of them's true motives here and it's telling that once again Roo is the one Sid talks to about it.
