Road to Yorkton was shot while the film makers Francis Damberger and Lars Lehman were attending their first film fest with the film On The Edge. They made the film during a blizzard which struck Yorkton during the film fest. The Road To Yorkton then premiered at the same festival the following spring. The response was absolutely resounding. It is perhaps one of the most early examples of the now common "mocu-mentary" genre.
