utter junk

The only recognizable people in this piece of garbage are daryl hannah and billy zane ... and sadly they only had bit parts ... the rest of the cast were virtual unknowns ... the comedy was too forced and the acting skills if any were never to be seen ... do yourself a big favor and skip this film

(2011) Lovemakers/ S. O. S Love! The Million Dollar Contract ROMANTIC COMEDY

The Million Dollar Contract/ Lovemakers" are directed by the same person by the name of Tamás Sas. The set up regarding a small group of young inspired filmmakers hired by a wealthy brother to infiltrate or detract his sister's love interest for a million dollars is nothing but a backdrop to the failed comedy routines. The comedy is flat like watching adults attempting to act young like they're still in college or something. It's so bad, this movie consists of many extremely boring moments. Billy Zane And Daryl Hannah also stars as she plays Mimi. Bomb.

I'm a bit disappointed (well, quite a bit)

Warning: Spoilers
Just like the gentleman in the other preview, I'm also a big fan of the 1st movie and I started to watch this one with a great interest (after 2 years of the original release, I might admit). Like I wrote before, I have seen the 1st movie and I was surprised how much the Hungarian film industry grown in the last decade. It was one of the greatest I have seen in many years. The story line, the characters, the whole thing was floating and got cooked together in a great entertaining way. However and unfortunately, I can not say the same thing about the sequel. Also being Hungarian, it is difficult to write a neutral review, especially a negative one. I believe the story (well let's say 80%) was OK. The acting part including all the actors were 95%. The foreign actors were up to their standards and even most of the Hungarians as well. And now comes what is difficult to write down, especially since I'm not at all a film critic or anything, so who am I to say anything bad? However. The editing and especially the directing part was simply awful. It could have been a great sequel, which is a very rare and difficult thing, because most of the sequels are worse, than the 1st movies. However, with the story and all the acting material at hand, it should have been a same quality movie as the 1st one was (or perhaps even better). I know it is easy to criticize from outside (not knowing all the circumstances), but, I honestly hope that, if anybody will do a 3rd part of these movies, that person will not even consider to use the same director. Which is a shame, since he has done a great job with the 1st movie, but not so with the 2nd one (maybe he got scared from the foreign actors). Well, whichever way, the 3rd movie could only be better, than this one and hopefully (with a great story line and actors) the director will also find the real himself to create something what's a worthy continuation. Well, better luck (more focus and concentration) next time! The actors will definitely deserve better (not to mention the audience). Few last words. Please do not think that my intention is to keep you away from this movie. If you have a chance, it is worth watching. Just keep in mind that great movies and directors also had a not so great foundation, on which they grow up and at the end nobody talks about the 1st steps and the road, but about the success at the end. Let's not forget the road as well, so we will remember where they all came from and how they become successful in the film industry and support them to do even better next time!

Stilted, forced, and artificial.
tabuno28 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Late in the movie the lead actor says that "It's kind of a funny story. It's gonna make a good movie one day." While the story could have made a good movie, this movie isn't the one day. After a decent action scene opening, the rest of the movie definitely does not attract an "international" audience just because the cast speaks English most of the time. The local Hungarian award-winning director Tamás Sas in his latest film apparently can't transfer his Hungarian talents to a romantic comedy that fits in with the American audience. Except for the American cast consisting of C.J. Thomason as Jake Griffen the principle male lead, Cree Kelly, an American actress as Zoya, the principle female lead along with the inclusion of Daryl Hannah as Mimi, aunt of Buddy who lives in Los Angeles and almost unrecognizable from her classic image from Blade Runner (1982), and finally in a few scenes Billy Zane as Griffen's movie and television agent, the mostly Hungarian principle characters are unable to present American comedy without it coming across stiltLate in the movie the lead actor says that "It's kind of a funny story. Really enjoyed Seeing CJ Thomason as Jake
lewy171120 December 2011
I am a big fan of the original SOS Love movie written by Agnes Fernandes who writes complex characters and romantic relationships, with funny and dry humor. I have been eagerly awaiting the sequel to sos love and was very excited to see this movie with Top USA actors. I thought CJ Thomason was great and I have been following his career for quite a while and love to watch him in Harpers Island, so its fun to see him in this leading role. I am very impressed that a Hungarian production team were able to sign on such big Hollywood actors as wonderful Daryl Hannah and Billy Zane. It is great to see these big names supporting International film Production. This movie is an overall good watch, CJ Thomason fans will not be disappointed to watch this romantic comedy. I think this movie could have been shot a bit better, with more professional editing and some more exciting scenes. But, as a fan of the SOS Love Franchise I am happy and look forward to the next installment.

It's a bad movie
roopesh-chandra-bose17 March 2021
Ok. Having said that let me add that only rarely have I watched a movie so bad that it's actually good.

The acting is passe... The story typical ... At least the one good thing is that it doest pretend to be what it's not.

Just a quirky and sometimes funny move with a cast that could possibly act better. If you have 90 odd mins to kill, then watch it. You may get a few laughs from it.

A quirky comedy with a touch of romance
zendatrim3 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
OK dont expect much from a film shot in Budapest. BUT I enjoyed it. It was a little slow to start but once it got going the premise was really clever, and i enjoyed it. I think if this was made in USA with bigger supporting cast it would have taken off.

Maybe its the accents people dont like not sure, but i thought it was entertaining.

It was free to watch and I really didnt dislike it in anyway. Great actors in it does Darryl Hannah ever get old she looked fabulous in this.

I wasnt disappointed. I have seen a lot lot worse.
