Terrible
Ok, this season just flat out sucks. It's frustrating to watch. Evan is the only one of the Ducks who is acting reasonably, yet the writers are making him and Coach Cole out to be in the wrong. Evan is trying to push himself to get better at hockey at a high performance hockey camp. Cole is trying to push the athletes who have come to his camp to learn and to up their game.
Why is that wrong?
Meanwhile, Evan's teammates are slackers. His mom/coach is encouraging their lazy attitude while undermining Cole's entire program every chance she gets (which other high level athletes across the country have paid for and committed their summer to). And they're all making him feel guilty and making him choose between them and his passion for hockey, instead of encouraging him to chase his dreams. They're being bad teammates and bad friends. Alex is a being a bad coach and a bad parent. If they weren't so selfish, they would see that this opportunity is important to Evan and they would encourage him to stay focused, rather than trying to drag him down to the level of underperforming mediocrity that they seem to be ok with.
The worst part is that I fully expect the Ducks to win the camp playoff in the next episode, thus rewarding their incomprehensible laziness and "teaching Cole a lesson" and all that nonsense. Garbage writing. Garbage message to try to teach the viewers. Garbage episode. Garbage season.
