One Last Ride!
This is the first episode of the fifth and final season of one of television's greatest shows, Breaking Bad. After a tremendous season four finale, season five opens with a bang even though there were no big moments. The plot slows down a tad, but we still get fantastic acting and a fantastic screenplay filled with excellent dialog. It's also interesting to note how Walter White's character experienced a drastic change from Season One.
In this episode, "Live Free or Die," we start with a flashback showing Walt at Denny's buying weapons. Then we rewind to the current day in the immediate aftermath of Gus's death. After Walt and Jesse make peace, they recruit a livid Mike to help destroy all the evidence that could incriminate them. Meanwhile Hank stops at the destroyed meth lab and Skylar is frightened when the beaten-up Ted finally awakes.
Overall, this is a great start to the final season which I'm sure is going to blow our expectations through the roof. We learn some surprising things in this episode which increases the drama of the episode. A very fine start! I rate this episode 10/10.
