Film i Vast launches title at Cannes slate presentation.
Christoffer Boe, who won the Cannes’ Camera d’Or in 2003 with Reconstruction, will direct Zentropa’s fourth and final instalment in the Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Department Q thriller series.
The Purity Of Vengeance starts shooting in December and will again star Nikolai Lie Kass and Fares Fares as the mismatched detectives.
Nikolai Arcel, Bo Hr. Hansen and Mikkel Norgaard wrote the script. Nordisk will release theatrically in autumn 2018 and TrustNordisk handles sales.
The previous three films in the series – starting with The Keeper Of Lost Causes [pictured] – have been record-setting hits in Denmark. Producer Louise Vesth of Zentropa said, “there have been 2.2m million tickets sold for these films in Denmark, I hope the fourth one will be an ever greater success.”
The story centres on the discovery of a series of corpses connected to an old women’s institution that carried out medical experiments.

In June, Wade Barrett will be done with WWE unless there’s drastic changes. He’s reportedly not happy with how he’s being pushed, and who could blame him? He has the look, the in-ring skills and the poise of a main event talent. Hell, the man Did main event mutliple pay-per-views in 2010. But that was six years ago, and his current incarnation as King Barrett means almost nothing to the company.
Unless there’s something big we don’t know about Barrett behind-the-scenes, then this is all on WWE. For a company starving for top stars, they’ve given him so many start-and-stop pushes that it’s maddening to watch, let alone live through. WWE’s Night Of Champions 2015 will be headlined by quite the colossal title bout. In the main event, Sting will challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This will be the Stinger’s first Pay-Per-View appearance since WrestleMania, and his first crack at the WWE Title. It’s a huge match, but it’s not the first big main event the PPV series has seen.
Over the years, WWE have pulled out some big matches for Night Of Champions. The event is considered part of the Vengeance lineage, even though it only became a true standalone event in 2008. Nonetheless, the show entitled, ‘Vengeance: Night Of Champions’ from 2007 will be considered for the entries on this list.
Matches such as Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena (2014), Cm Punk vs. Jeff Hardy (2009) and Triple H vs. John Cena (2008) have all been huge bouts in the main event slot.

The day monster kids have dreaded for some time has arrived. Mournful, nostalgic, and melancholy – it’s the end of an era for more than one generation of horror fans. It seemed like Christopher Lee would live through all eternity, but unlike some of the characters he played, there’s no bringing him back to life this time. He made it to 93 and went out on a high note, appearing in the final Hobbit film just this past winter. He had an amazing career of fantastic performances and remains the greatest villain actor in film history. Rip to the last classic horror star and thank you for all the monster memories.

If you love virtual pinball (and why wouldn't you), then you've undoubtedly found yourself playing some of the incredible pinball tables in Zen Pinball 2. While the game developers have already made the jump to the current generation platforms, not all of their tables have, but a new update is looking to change that. Best of all, if you already own these tables on the PS3 or Vita, you'll be able to import them for free to the PS4. Come inside to see which tables you'll be able to play!
From the press release:
Zen Studios, leading developer and publisher of digital video games, today announced a major update for Zen Pinball 2 for PlayStation 4. The update, which will go live on PS4 on July 15, brings a host of tables from the PS3 and Vita versions of the game over to the platform.

WWE is ending the pay per view year with a bang, unifying the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship, assuring only one man will stand tall as the face of the company. The main event will feature John Cena and Randy Orton battling it out in a tables, ladders and chairs match with both titles hung high above the ring.
Whether either man should continue as "the face of WWE" is a matter of opinion, but this will be the big match to end 2013. It's also the exact same thing that happened at "Vengeance," the final pay per view in 2001, with Chris Jericho emerging as the undisputed champion. Don't tell WWE though, they forgot.

SummerSlam is less than two weeks away, and it is shaping up to be one of the best ever. The thing people have been talking about most has been Daniel Bryan, who became WWE’s “People’s Champion” after the fans unanimously nominated him as the chosen competitor for the precious WWE championship against John Cena at the second (more like third) biggest wrestling PPV of the year without Vince McMahon’s consent.
Everyone is speculating what will happen at SummerSlam, asking questions like “Will John Cena win?”, “Will Daniel Bryan win only to be screwed by Vince’s envisioned ‘corporate’ champion Randy Orton?”, or “Will they allow Bryan to live his boyhood dream by putting the WWE title around his waist?” In some way or another, everyone is talking and writing about this angle. Hell, I even wrote a column a few weeks ago about what McMahon’s shrewd plan is with Daniel Bryan,...

With Extreme Rules on the horizon, it seems kind of strange to have a show title that conjures up ideas and visuals of blood and violence in an age of WWE programming that is so opposed to ethos. So, I wanted to take a look back and talk about some of the best and most extreme matches from the vaults of the WWE, and most of them you can find on You Tube or various DVD box-sets.
To be clear, I have excluded many gimmick matches like Cage, Hell in a Cell etc. They can compose a number of different lists all together. But, I have opened this up to include hardcore, falls count anywhere or anything else that involves weapons or outside area spots, as these matches are often very much the same idea. And, the list is drawn from the WWE/WWF product not Ecw, WCW etc. If...

Nicolas Cage has said he is not interested in making any more Ghost Rider movies.
Mark Steven Johnson's first film in 2007 made $228million globally on a $110million budget and accrued a feeble 26 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Attempting to give it a more gritty style and hold on to the screen rights, Sony brought in directing duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor for the semi-reboot Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which had a lower budget of $57million but made even less at the box office ($132million) than the first outing and was even less popular with critics (17 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes).
Not surprisingly, Cage says he's finished with the franchise - though he insists Spirit of Vengeance was a success in its own way.
He told MTV: "Personally, I'm done. I've done what I had to do with that part. You never say never, but right now,...

Zen Studios originally revealed that "Zen Pinball 2" would be making its way to the Wii U as a free download from the eShop in December. Unfortunately, you've probably noticed that it hasn't shown up yet... A delay has pushed the game's release into January.
No specifics were given in regards to why "Zen Pinball 2" has been delayed for Wii U, but in response to eager Twitter followers asking about the game's digital arrival Zen Studios said, "Sorry, not until January."
"Zen Pinball 2" will be a free download when it finally arrives, only asking players to dole out the cash if they want a chance to play on more tables, each of which can be demoed beforehand. The Wii U version also brings some new features, including touch-screen controls via the GamePad and a motion-controlled "Free View" mode.

The masters of virtual pinball wizardry, Zen Studios, announced earlier this week that Zen Pinball 2 will be released on the North American and European Wii U eShops later this month.
Wii U owners will be able to download the Zen Pinball 2 platform for free, which will then allow them to gain access to several free trials for tables and the ability to purchase additional pinball tables. At launch the selection of pinball tables on the Wii U will not be as expansive as it is on the Zp 2‘s many other platforms, however, Zen Studios has made sure that there will be more than enough to keep players busy.
The initial set of tables for Zen Pinball 2 on the Wii U include:
Zen Classic Pack – featuring Tesla, El Dorado, V12, Shaman Marvel Pinball – featuring Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Iron Man Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles – featuring Marvel’s The Avengers, Infinity Gauntlet,...

The 25th annual WWE Summerslam is just around the corner and it looks like it could be a good PPV. Brock Lesnar and Triple H have created a solid build-up to their match despite a relatively small amount of on-screen time together and the WWE Championship match could be interesting due to the triple threat angle. The World Heavyweight Title bout between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio has been cancelled and undoubtedly there will be a few twists and turns before it is reinstated for the PPV. The possible show-stealer is Chris Jericho against Dolph Ziggler and although it hasn’t had the greatest build-up, it has the potential to be a match-of-the-year candidate.
Any one of those matches would do well to be compared to some of the legendary feuds and battles that have taken place over the last 24 Summerslam events. But which ones are the best?

Walking corpses and mass witch-hunting in 1348 ... this uneven and silly film is plagued by historical inaccuracies
Black Death (2010)
Director: Christopher Smith
Entertainment grade: C
History grade: E+
The Black Death was a bubonic plague pandemic that struck Europe between 1347 and 1350.
Disease
The film begins in England in the winter of 1348. A victim is laid out on a table, blood pouring from his armpits. Gross, but accurate: plague buboes are usually found in the neck, groin or armpit. An early symptom of plague is painful armpits. If your armpits are hurting right now, bear in mind that in the 21st century a more common cause of armpit pain is reading the sentence: "An early symptom of plague is painful armpits." The film's characters are short on medical knowledge, and think God is punishing them for sin.
Medicine
A gang of mercenaries led by Ulric (Sean Bean) roam the countryside looking for sinners.

Welcome back to Straight Shoot. If you haven’t already, catch up on this week’s Raw with our weekly WWE Monday Night Raw recaps. Then follow writer Aubrey Sitterson on Twitter and make sure to check back every Thursday afternoon for a new Straight Shoot.
Outside of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which is traditionally 15 or 20 minutes of unhinged insanity, the Elimination Chamber might just be my favorite gimmick match. Six different wrestlers, no count-outs or disqualifications, suspenseful staggered entrances and perhaps most excitingly, elimination style rules, so none of that “Lost without getting pinned nonsense.” If you throw a humongous ladder in there, you might just have the perfect half hour of entertainment. Considering all that, you might just think that I’d be pretty excited for this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, which features not one, but two EC matches. Unfortunately, while I’m sure...

This Friday, February 17, sees the release of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the second film starring Nicolas Cage as the Marvel Comics' supernatural vigilante.
He plays Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist who makes a deal with the Devil to try to save his stepfather. As a result he becomes a demonic bounty hunter cursed with the ability to ignite his head, body and bike with hellfire.
Eager to disassociate himself from the poorly-received first film, Cage has made it clear Spirit of Vengeance is not a direct sequel but rather a completely new take on the character.
Speaking in an interview to promote the new movie from co-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, Cage said he was happy this time to fully perform the role of the Ghost Rider rather than just play his human alter-ego.
But how exactly do you portray an antihero with a burning skull? Cage revealed...

A Dangerous Method (15)
(David Cronenberg, 2011, UK/ Ger/Can/Swi) Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, Vincent Cassel, Sarah Gadon. 100 mins
Cronenberg perverts the cause of the costume drama, as Jung and Freud go where no psychoanalyst has gone before, lifting the lid on 19th-century decorum then falling into their own can of worms. Those expecting psychedelic gore (or kinky erotica) will be disappointed; this is intelligent, articulate and restrained, but not quite conventional.
The Muppets (U)
(James Bobin, 2011, Us) Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Kermit The Frog. 110 mins
The faded felt performers mock their own obsolescence in a family musical that's very hard to dislike. Built around a shambolic "let's put on a show" comeback story, it doesn't always crackle with wit, but South Park-ish self-awareness and Conchords-style songs compensate.
The Woman In Black (12A)
(James Watkins, 2012, UK) Daniel Radcliffe, Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer. 95 mins
A great many things go bump and argh!

WWE was an odd beast in 2011 being at times so repetitive and cringeworthy that it made you embarrassed to be a fan and on other occasions so thrilling that you couldn’t imagine living without it. Like a relationship with a schizophrenic, the company delighted with one of its best ever years for sustained PPV quality yet one of its worse for overall direction and booking, showed signs of promoting new talent yet made a mockery of the stars it had tried to push the year before and gripped crowds with fantastic inciting incidents for feuds only to transform them into meaningless rivalries through needlessly rushing the strands of the story.
Throughout all the ups and downs of the year the superstars continued to work tirelessly to entertain the masses in arguably the most relentlessly taxing entertainment profession in the world and all deserve respect for their boundless energy and...

Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that sources within the WWE are expecting the TLC pay-per-view on Sunday to have the lowest buy-rate of the year. If true, and the way it has been built up would certainly suggest as much, this would make TLC at the very least the second lowest pay-per-view buyrate in the history of the company as October’s event Vengeance sold only 76,000 buys total and currently has that honour.
The lowest buy-rate in WWE history is 2006′s Ecw pay-per-view December to Dismember but did not have the star power Sunday’s show will have.
October’s Vengeance pay-per-view suffered because it had such a poor card for an event that took place just three weeks after Hell in a Cell and was headlined by Alberto Del Rio vs. Cm Punk in a WWE Title match and Mark Henry vs. Big Show for the World Title.

The Big News: A masked Kane returned to chokeslam John Cena, Cm Punk won the superstar of the year slammy award and Triple H emerged after a two month hiatus to hype up his TLC match with Kevin Nash.
In a Nutshell: The Slammy Awards somehow ended up being a reminder of the worse things of the year instead of the best.
A Slammy Award video package opened the show which showed moments of previous ceremonies including some brief footage of Owen Hart’s hillarious victory celebration on the night when he was actually supposed to be handing out the award…. “I did it again… wooooooo!!!!” That genuinely was hysterical.
What was not so hysterical however was the segment which opened this three hour edition of Raw which saw Hornswoggle and Booker T present the slammy for the “tell me I did not just see that award”. Jr won for...

WWE returns to Madison Square Garden tonight for the 25th anniversary of one of it’s primary A-show PPV’s WWE Survivor Series, headlined by The Rock’s first match in seven and a half years, teaming up with the most popular superstar in the company and his opponent at next year’s Wrestlemania, John Cena.
The build up to the PPV as a whole hasn’t been too bad and at least we have six solid matches that have been booked ahead of time and each have their own story to tell. This is nice to see as there’ll be a helluva lot of casual fans buying this PPV to see The Rock and John Cena team, so the storylines need to be strong on the other bouts to retain them as viewers. In some ways the number of buys the PPV has tonight is irrelevant except to...

The Big News: Mick Foley returned and fell victim to a rock bottom after a this is your life segment with John Cena. In the main event, Cena and Rock both took out Miz and Truth after a verbal confrontation but there was still dissent in the ranks as the pair insulted one another beforehand and Rock disrupted Cena’s attempt to plant Miz with his finisher. Meanwhile Del Rio earnt a pinfall over Punk in a world champions vs challengers tag match before locking him in the crossarmbar straight afterwards and the members of Team Orton and Team Barrett got involved in a mass scrap following a singles match between the Survivor Series team captains.
In a nutshell: Whilst Raw was rocked, the crediblity of Miz and Truth hit rock bottom

Dolph Ziggler was announced last night on Raw as Christian’s replacement in the Team Orton vs. Team Barrett five-on-five man traditional elimination match at this Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series PPV.
As we reported last week, Christian suffered a knee injury on the European tour and will be out of action for several weeks.
The Survivor Series elimination match will now be;
Randy Orton, Sheamus, Mason Ryan, Kofi Kingston & Sin Cara vs. Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Hunico & Dolph Ziggler
This likely means that Ziggler will once again be doing double duty on the PPV, just as he did at Vengeance last month. It was previously announced that Ziggler would defend his U.S. title once again against Zack Ryder at the PPV. Many of us expected Ryder to win the U.S. Title given how huge he has got himself over with the crowd lately and how...
