Paris Jackson is stepping into the limelight with an upcoming guest appearance on the new Fox drama, Star.
In the upcoming episode, Michael Jackson's 18-year-old daughter will make her acting debut as Rachel Wells, a super-chic and intimidating social media guru who oversees a publicity shoot of the girl group. Wells shakes things up when she deliberately goads Eva (Sharlene Taule) and Star (Jude Demorest) into pushing boundaries.

Social media can be a tricky beast. On the one hand, it's incredibly cool how all these apps and share sites connect people all around the world. There's a (hollow) sense of accomplishment that comes from a post amassing a certain amount of likes, too. But there's a darker, oftentimes cruel side of social media that comes from its apparent anonymity—and it's something Paris Jackson knows all too well. Michael Jackson's 18-year-old daughter, sadly, is no stranger to cyber-bullying. In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah's Next Chapter, Paris said online attempts to bring her down "don't really work," but in the years since, she's become vocal about the...

Honoring the best and brightest of the media industry, the 25th GLAAD Media Awards took over the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Saturday (May 3).
Emmy Rossum showed up at the fancy fete in a rose pink fit-and-flare dress with plenty of beads and sequins as she posed up a storm for the shutterbugs before heading inside to catch all the action.
Meanwhile, Naomi Watts also opted for a pink pastel ensemble including a strapless top with cropped trousers and black strappy sandals.
Providing plenty more eye candy were beautiful singing sirens such as Kacey Musgraves and Kylie Minogue.
The 25th GLAAD Media Awards handed out their first round of trophies at the NYC shindig, with another ceremony planned for the West Coast later this month.
And the winners are:

Somewhat oddly, the GLAAD Media Awards split their awards across two ceremonies, three weeks apart, on opposite coasts. On Saturday, the second of these took place in New York, as a range of films, TV shows and media outlets were honored for commendable coverage of Lgbt issues. Included in the second ceremony were the two chief film awards. Best Picture Oscar nominee "Philomena" took the prize for best film in wide release, beating out the likes of "Blue is the Warmest Color" and three-time Oscar winner "Dallas Buyers Club." In the limited release section, I'm pleased to see that Stacie Passon's excellent but neglected lesbian drama "Concussion" was recognized. At the earlier ceremony, "Bridegroom" and "Call Me Kuchu" had tied for the documentary award, while "Behind the Candelabra," already lavishly rewarded, took the TV film/miniseries prize. On the TV front, Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" was named...

London, March 11: The opening episode of actress Lindsay Lohan's reality show on Own delivered only 693,000 viewers when it was aired recently.
The series went on air March 9.
Though that's higher than the network's average in the slot, the debut of "Lindsay" is down from Lohan's post-rehab interview on "Oprah's Next Chapter" last fall, which averaged 892,000 viewers, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Both the shows were down when they were compared to Winfrey's previous high-profile celebrity interviews.
Own's Lance Armstrong interview delivered 3.2 million viewers last year and its interview with the surviving.

For 25 years, Oprah Winfrey gave away everything from iPads to automobiles to her studio audience. Though her talk show has ended, her generosity hasn't. And this time, it hits close to home. Winfrey, 60, has been quietly aiding her younger half-sister Patricia Lofton, paying for her education and, according to multiple reports, even buying her a new $490,000 house in Wisconsin. It's all to help Lofton, who is nine years younger than Winfrey, reach one of her lifetime goals. "Patricia's greatest dream was to go to college and become a social worker," says Winfrey's spokesperson. "Oprah wants to support that dream." Three years ago,...

I imagine this just might be one of the most-watched, highest-rated episodes of Oprah's Next Chapter, airing this Sunday, December 8. Oprah Winfrey will talk to 3 of the actors behind some of 2013's most talked about performances: Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Michael B. Two or three years ago, during one of our S&A podcasts (which will return soon by the way), when Tyler Perry and Spike Lee were feuding, I teased that a day would come, sooner than we might think, when both filmmakers will team up and work together on a project. We all had a good laugh about it, and as I recall, some of you chimed in, saying that hell would probably freeze over first before that union happens. Well, I wouldn't rush to put money down on that bet just yet because, Spike revealed to Oprah Winfrey, during an all-new episode of Oprah's Next Chapter last Sunday, that, it's practically a love-fest now between he and Perry, after he visited Tyler's house,...

With his new late-night TV talkshow on somewhat unstable ground, Arsenio Hall made what seems to have become a celebrity right of passage last night, in a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, on her popular Own series Oprah's Next Chapter. I'm not a cable TV customer, so I wasn't able to watch the episode; although I was very curious to hear what Arsenio had to say about his comeback - specifically, the challenges he's faced, and the recent news that his showrunner and executive producer stepped down, as the late-night talkshow's ratings have declined since its debut. Sure, I've read and watched other interviews with him since his new show debuted last month, but there's nothing like the...

Robin Thicke had to answer some of the more hard-hitting about his actions since "Blurred Lines" took the world by storm and he was part of that infamous VMAs performance with Miley Cyrus. He didn't really have much in the way of clear answers, though. Thicke was Oprah Winfrey's guest on "Oprah's Next Chapter" and she made sure to ask about the things people were interested in knowing.
A previously released clip already showed Robin putting the blame for the controversial performance, which included quite a bit of twerking, on Miley. He claimed he was simply "twerked upon," and was too busy focusing on his singing to see what Miley was doing.
He also says it's not surprising, because Miley was just being herself. "That is exactly who she is, she wasn't putting on a front," Thicke explains. He goes on to say Miley first heard "Blurred Lines" while...

If you ask Robin Thicke, he's the "twerkee," not the twerker. Robin Thicke made headlines earlier this year with his racy performance with singer Miley Cyrus at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Now he sits down with Oprah Winfrey for "Oprah's Next Chapter" to talk about the controversial moment and also his marriage to actress Paula Patton.
Regarding the "Blurred Lines" performance, where Cyrus was grinding against Thicke's pelvis in a move called "twerking," Thicke says, "People ask me, 'Do you twerk?' I'm like, 'Listen, I'm the twerkee. I'm twerked upon. I don't twerk myself, okay? I'm just twerked upon.'"
He also says the performance wasn't about sex, it was about fun.

Oprah Winfrey's work ethic is unparalleled, which has been both a blessing and a curse for the TV titan. Tina Turner has had her share of heartache –- but at age 73, she tells Oprah that she's finally found her Nirvana. On a recent episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter" on Own, Oprah had an intimate conversation with the legendary performer following Turner's recent wedding to her longtime love Erwin Bach.
During the interview, Oprah says Turner told her something before her wedding that struck a chord. "You said, 'Oprah, I found happiness for myself and I think it's because I desire nothing,'" she says in the above video clip.
Oprah asks Turner: "How do you get to the space, where we're all trying to get to, where you desire nothing?"
"First, it's a journey," Turner says. "You're born, you go through the journey, and then you leave the journey."
What's important, Tina continues, is how one manages that journey. "I stayed on track. I stayed on course," she says.

Anna Mae Bullock's life changed forever when Ike Turner, the lead singer of a popular St. Louis band, brought her on stage and handed her a microphone. During Lindsay Lohan's highly anticipated interview with Oprah on Oprah's Next Chapter, the actress said she "hates" that her name is seen as both an adjective and a verb for child star gone wrong. Recalling the start of her career, she said the trouble started in her late teens. "When I moved to La after filming Mean Girls, I was 17 or 18. Between the legal drama surrounding Amanda Bynes and Mara Wilson's recent post about why young actors tend to struggle later in life, there have been several child stars in the news lately. Lohan said she's in "a different head space" now and vowed to stay "present and clear-headed and focused.""I feel whole again," she told Winfrey, "and I have such a desire to want to keep this feeling and stay this way, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes." Lohan, 27, completed her latest court-ordered stay in rehab in July. She must continue therapy into late next year.

Four days after completing her sixth stint in rehab, Lindsay Lohan sat down with Oprah for a highly anticipated interview. During their candid conversation, the actress opened up about her time in rehab as well as her public court battles, family feuds and addictions.
In this clip from the interview on "Oprah's Next Chapter," Oprah focuses on Lohan's addiction, beginning with a direct question for the troubled star. "Are you an addict?" she asks Lohan.
"Yeah," Lohan answers.
"What is your drug of choice?" Oprah asks.
"Alcohol," Lohan says. "That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me… I tried cocaine with alcohol."
After Lohan's first arrest for possession, she had said that she had only done cocaine three or four times. During her conversation with Oprah, though, Lohan reveals it was more. "I really haven't done it more than 10 to 15 times," Lohan admits. "Of course, I said three or four.

On Sunday night's hourlong grilling in Oprah's Next Chapter, Lindsay Lohan remained steadfastly penitent, hit all the predicted recovery notes, and very carefully avoided anything that could be construed as a bombshell. Lohan shared that her "drug of choice" is alcohol, and that she has only used cocaine "like ten to fifteen times," and just as a tool to let her drink more alcohol. Her other biggest dependency was Adderall ("I notice how much calmer I am without it"), and when Oprah asked how exactly she's planning to change going forward, she immediately answered that she would be stopping with the Adderall. She also resisted the urge to complain about her parents Dina and Michael (whose dramatics have put them in just as many tabloids as their famous daughter), saying that they were currently "not toxic."Will Oprah's influence (and maternal pressure) help Lohan? Only time can tell. But! Oprah...
