Soon people from the town are hunting for the missing Bobby through the woods.
In the present at the cabin, Harry comes out of his room and finds Asta in his kitchen making coffee. She says that they should check on the alien egg, not remembering that it cracked open and the alien baby emerged. Harry tells her not to worry about the baby and that it's in the bunker, and is happy that she's happy rather than sad. He tells Asta that he was in the bunker checking on the baby, and it gave him a telepathic message that his people aren't coming to destroy Earth. Asta hugs Harry and says that it's the best news in her life, and Harry doesn't reveal that there's another evil alien race on Earth will kill everyone.
Later, Harry tells Ben, Liv, Lena, and Mike that he did an autopsy on Corrington, and the crime was committed with a rifle across the county line. Ben says that it's speculation, and Harry says that his official findings are the same as the original. The mayor insists that the bullet wasn't fired at long range, and Harry is speculating. He walks out and Lena thanks Harry for his work and placing the killer in Jessup county, which gives her precedence.
Harry goes to the morgue and says that he doesn't want the body there because it reminds him how he was shot and almost killed. Nurse Ellen comes in and tells Harry that he has to take pain medication to a dying man, Gerard. Harry says that he doesn't want to go because it's depressing, and tells Ellen to reschedule it until after the man is dead. Ellen has Harry sign the paperwork to release the body to the NYC authorities. Harry goes to his office and finds D'arcy there on his couch. She asks if Asta is around, and Harry figures that D'arcy can't mention to Asta that she's a killer. Harry tells her not to mention it to Asta, and D'arcy says that she won't and she doesn't want to think about it. D'arcy figures that Harry is in denial about it. He denies it, and Astra wonders why someone wants to kill him. She says that she would do anything for Asta, and she'll kill Harry if he dragged Asta into something. Then D'arcy dismisses her comment as a joke and leaves.

Harry goes to the barn and finds the alien baby feeding on a cow's teat. The farmer comes in and scares the baby off, telling it to stop feeding on his cows. Harry, panicked, hides and then runs out.
Ben comes into Mike's office and tells him that he has good news. He says that the resort company has put a bid on the land, and it's good news for Mike because he can hire more people. However, Ben warns that if the investors hear about the murder, they might go somewhere else. He wants Mike to take a backseat to Jessup. Mike refuses, and Ben asks him to think about it because he needs something to go right. Mike figures that Ben is having trouble at home. He says that he went through some things that he didn't deal with, and sometimes they have to face life head on. Ben agrees and says that it's hard to talk to Kate sometimes. Mike says that Ben should take Kate somewhere public so she doesn't try to kill him.
The baby runs into the mine, and Harry runs into the entrance but backs off. He has a panic attack but doesn't know what the feeling is, and realizes that it's fear of death and he's not ready to die. He runs off.
Judy goes to the bar and complains that her fellow pool player Brenda is annoying, and that it's not like her and D'arcy. Asta comes in and tells D'arcy that she went hiking and came in to spread the joy. D'arcy talks about her date, but Asta doesn't remember D'arcy talking to her about Elliott. She tells D'arcy to go out on another date with Elliott, and she has a good feeling about it. Judy shoots, and the banging noise of the balls remind her of the gunshot. D'arcy notices, and Asta says that she's fine.
Mike and Liv get a report about a boat floating in the lake. They go there and Liv figures that the owner came from New Jersey. Lena comes in and says a nearby van has New Jersey plates, and complains that Mike didn't call her in despite the fact they're partners.
Asta leaves the bar and greets Jay as she walks up. Jay complains to Asta that she didn't show up for her birthday, and Asta doesn't remember Jay asking her to come with her on her birthday. Asta realizes that Harry did something to her memory and goes to the clinic to confront him. She accuses him of erasing her memory, and he says that she asked her to. Harry says that he did it for her, and she wanted Harry to do it to take away her sadness. They go out to the clearing and Harry restores her memories, and Asta is shocked that she killed a human being.
Mike and Liv go back to the station, and Lena lurks outside their office. She comes in, and Liv gets off the phone to NYC and says that the two men who drove to Patience in the van have ties to the mob and are suspects in several hits. Lena has already identified them from a CCTV, and she and Mike talk about their time as big city cops in DC and NYC, respectively. The two of them bond despite Liv's attempts to stop them.
Back at the cabin, Harry says that Asta killing Corrington was a good thing. Asta says that Harry can't erase memories, and Harry points out that Asta was happy when he erased her memories. She says that feelings are important to some, and he insists that he's not freaked out that he almost died. Asta figures that he's burying his feelings. She says that she'll deal with her feelings, tells Harry to stay out of her head, and leaves.
Sahar is walking her dog in the park. A much older Eleanor walks by, sees Bobby walking past, and calls him by name, telling her daughter Suzy that she knows her own brother. D'arcy and Elliott go for a walk at an excavation site, and Elliott says that artifacts were found there during the digging and his agency was brought in to catalog and preserve them. He says that he feels he's connected to something that was gone forever, and D'arcy says that she likes the fact that he's doing something important when all she does is run a bar. He says that they all have a past, but they're not stuck.
Going over to the backhoe the contractor parked to keep Elliott from expanding the digging, she drives it out of the way. Elliott says that it was the hottest thing he ever saw, and they kiss.
That night, Ben and Kate go to the diner and he tells his wife that he wants to talk to her about something. He finally says that he's afraid to tell her anything, and Kate says that it makes her feel horrible. She figures out that Ben brought her to the diner for public protection, and he denies it. At first, then he admits Kate is right. She admits that it's the most honest thing he's said to her in a long time, and leaves.
Mike and Lena bring Judy in and show her photos of the two hit men. She refuses to talk to Lena, and then confirms that they're the two men she saw at the motel. Liv comes in and Lena steps out to call her people. Then she comes back in and says that they're heading to Jessup, and her team found medical records belonging to Sam in the trunk of Corrington's car. Lena and Mike take the elevator down, and Mike leaves Liv behind so she's forced to take the stairs.
Ben returns home and finds Kate on the couch. He says that he didn't mean to say he was afraid of her, and she says that there are things he should have told her. Kate admits that she doesn't make it easy for Ben to talk to her, and they both say that they didn't use to have problems talking to each other. She says that she loves Ben and knows he loves her, and figures this is what they are. She goes to the kitchen and the phone rings. It's Ben, who finally says that he can't stop thinking about her. Kate smiles and they talk like they did when they first met. Three hours late, Ben says that it feels like five minutes and he's falling in love with her, and he hopes that doesn't scare her away.

Harry is eating comfort food at the diner, and Asta comes in. She figures that Harry is using food to make himself better. He apologizes for erasing her memory and admits that he should have let her suffer. Harry asks Asta if she's afraid of death, and she says that death is complicated and people don't talk about it but eat through their emotions. Asta says that they need the bard time, and if she can get past it then she'll be stronger. That's her relationship with death, and she tells Harry that he has to figure out his.
