Cool new robots, cool new cast members and some cool new Dinobots are just some of the reasons to get excited about Transformers: The Last Knight, according to Mark Wahlberg. However that may be, Michael Bay’s blockbuster sequel has found itself in a spot of hot water.
First up, Wahlberg’s comments. Hosting a Facebook Q&A to champion the release of Deepwater Horizon (via ScreenRant), the actor may have danced around core plot points to confirm a few things that we already know – such as Anthony Hopkins’ role – but he also teased that fans of all things Transformers “are really going to go crazy for the Mini-Dinobots.”
Per Facebook:
“[Transformers: The Last Knight] is a cool new story, it’s kind of like a man on the run. Sir Anthony Hopkins is also in the film. We got a cool new cast, cool new robots, cool new villains and some cool new Dinobots.

Birthday shoutouts go to Kevin Alejandro (above), who is 38, Russell Crowe is 50, John Oates is 65, and Jackie Chan is 60.
Our thoughts are with the family and generations of fans of screen legend Mickey Rooney, who died today at the age of 93. He’ll always be the one true Fallout Boy to me.
In more sad news, model and ally Peaches Geldof has died at the age of 25.
Supreme Court won’t hear anti-gay photographer case. Nom heads just exploded.
I Was Broken, and Matt Bomer Put Me Back Together. Is there anything he can’t do?
As I’m sure you’ll agree, The Asylum is one of the great production companies in Hollywood. They’re responsible for most of the iconic Syfy Channel movies, including Sharknado, Almighty Thor, Nazis At The Center Of The Earth, American Warships, Atlantic Rim, Titanic II, and of course, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid (to name just a few.

Having seen my fair share of dinosaur movies made for Syfy and even by The Asylum, I can only marvel at the quality of most of the dino f/x on display in the trailer for The Asylum’s Age of Dinosaurs.
They may not quite be Jurassic Park quality, but damn, this really does look like it’s going to be a lot of fun if you love rampaging dino flicks. See for yourself.
Either The Asylum spent more money on Age of Dinosaurs than they typically do on their productions or director Joseph Lawson is once again proving why he’s the top inmate at The Asylum. Having already given us a fairly solid fantasy flick in the form of the lawsuit-baiting Age of the Hobbits Aka Lord of the Elves Aka Clash of the Empires Aka better than it had any given right to be, as well...

Treat Williams barely survived carnivorous sea monsters in Deep Rising and Ronny Cox famously fell victim to Robocop. Together they will now face a prehistoric threat reborn when bioengineered dinos threaten to transform Los Angeles into a new Age of Dinosaurs.
Using breakthrough flesh-regeneration technology, a biotech firm creates a set of living dinosaurs. But when the creatures escape their museum exhibit and terrorize Los Angeles, a former firefighter must rescue his teenage daughter from the chaos brought on by the Age of Dinosaurs.
I’m going to take a wild guess and speculate that Treat Williams plays the former firefighter and Ronny Cox is cast as the hard ass head of the flesh-regeneration technology, because who better to play the executive officer of a corporation that suffers the consequences when playing God than Robocop’s boss?
Jillian Rose Reed (My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen: Part 3 and “Weeds”) and actor-stuntman Max Aria co-star.

Piggybacking off the domestic box office disaster Battleship as much as they can, The Asylum released their low-budget knock-off entitled American Warships. Leave it to these mockbuster makers to swoop in on the dead carcass and pick off all the flesh left on the bone after the brutal slaying it suffered. The original title of the film was American Battleship until Universal Pictures intervened demanding a name-change among other things. The Asylum did what they had to do to get the finished product released and told the studio they "appreciate the publicity."
American Warships begins when a mysterious attack is launched by undetectable ships off the coast of civilization. The U.S.S. Ohio and its crew are brought out of retirement to find out who's responsible for the attacks before the different countries of the world begin World War III. They soon discover that the unknown force is alien.

Nazis at the Center of the Earth (2012) When compared to other endeavors from The Asylum, director Joseph J. Lawson and writer Paul Bales’ SyFy shocker “Nazis at the Center of the Earth” is pretty solid entertainment. Although the special effects are cheap and obvious, the acting is a notch below pathetic, and there’s not much of a plot to speak of, the flick seems to be at peace with its shortcomings. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of the entire feature is its complete lack of morals; there are a fair number of disgusting moments sprinkled throughout, including a bit involving abortions and stem-cell research. It’s a pretty horrifying sequence, and it almost seems a little out-of-place amongst Asylum’s typical low-rent shenanigans. Then again, chances are you’re not watching something like “Nazis at the Center of the Earth” because you’re looking for intelligent, high-brow cinema. No,...

You really have got to hand it to The Asylum. Not content to just do mockbusters of big screen movies, now they’re mockbustering an entire week of programming on a cable television network with Shark Week.
Shark Week reunites 2-Headed Shark Attack director Christopher Olen Ray and writer H. Perry Horton for a carcharodon-a-thon Horton describes on his own Asylum fansite as “The Hunger Games meets Deep Blue Sea.”
Synopsis:
A group of complete strangers find themselves isolated by a wealthy madman on his island compound. They are forced into a horrifying gauntlet where they must survive a barrage of ever deadlier species of shark.
Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy, Patriot Games) stars as the wealthy madman. Yancy Butler (“Witchblade”, Lake Placid 3) is his femme fatale sidekick. Erin Coker of The Asylum’s Air Collision and Josh Allen Nazis at the Center of the Earth are amongst...

“Wouldn’t it be hard to make a movie about a huge Nazi army in an underground world in Antarctica on a next-to-nothing budget?” you might ask. The answer is “yes.”
A crack team of scientists stationed in Antarctica accidentally discover a piece of aluminum sheeting with a swastika painted on it buried one whole inch below the surface of the snow where it has been since 1945 when Nazis fled to the snowy continent to continue their mad plans to rule the world. Sensing their aluminum sheeting has been discovered, Nazis race to the surface and abduct the two scientists away to their enormous underground Nazi lair.
The rest of the scientists, led by Jake Busey, go looking for their co-workers and come upon a hole in the ground that leads to this crazy world.

The Asylum is launching their latest film in Nazis at the Center of the Earth on DVD April 24th. This film production comapany loves to knock-off large blockbusters such as Transformers, The Terminator and disaster films in general. Their latest copy is the film found here. Writer Paul Bales and director Joseph J. Lawson are borrowing some plot points from Timo Vuorensola's Iron Sky.
In both films, the Third Reich is still threatening the modern world. And in this film, Joseph Mengele (Christopher Karl Johnson) is the architect of the German invasion. Hmmm strange, Mengele died in 1979. The inconsistencies continue, but Nazis at the Center of the Earth is an enjoyable...
