Thank you Amazon. The 2012 rewatch begins

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, a massive thank you to Amazon for saving 'Neighbours'. They can't comprehend what a big thing this is for the millions of fans of the show around the world. Thank you!

Part of the fun of their purchase is that fans can now see old episodes via Freevee too, and while 2012 seems like a bit of an odd choice, it's still great fun.

Lots of great things here, from poor old Toadie being caught up in the drama of the attack on Chris, and smug Rhys being the hero doing some rather emergency medical work in the garage of all places.

The 'wild Kate' storyline doesn't really work, because we don't really buy that Kate is 'wild', and the Emilia character wasn't much better either, but on the whole this is great.

Warning: Spoilers
Well, after a cliffhanger that left us wondering if Chris would be found, he is, straightaway.Oddly this doesn't defuse the tension as Rhys is left struggling to save his life.Ben Barber puts in a nice performance as Rhys is left shaken by the experience and struggling to project an air of confidence. It's a nice plot line only marred by slightly too much Summer.

Toadie finds his belief in his employers shattered as he's left believing Peter has set him up.Hayes' approach to the issue is rather myopic and you are left wondering just what evidence there is to have Toadie charged.

Kate and Emilia going out on the town doesn't get much screen time but is presumably meant to indicate Kate's change of character. What we see so far though is her scrubbing up nicely and going to Charlie's Bar, which doesn't seem much of a departure for her.
