Enjoyable

I quite enjoyed this, it was refreshing and sweet. Probably a tad too long but I enjoyed every moment. The actors were exuberant and funny.

What made this really special was how the preacher's wife had to lick her own medicine. There were a lot of loose ends which really weren't tied together too well. The leading lady was exciting to watch and look what a good actress this is. I was actually looking for titles other movie titles with her in it. I found this movie easy to watch. She can't be missing anything except for 2 hours so give the movie a chance! You will not ever regret it. Just try it. Thank you.

Culturally-consciousness is needed before judging this film

As a Nigerian, I am so proud and inlove with this film! From the drama to conversations, to important lesson surrounding love. Adire is one of the many films fhat one has to have cultural awareness first, before rating.

It managed to encompass the values and experiences of Nigerians and spoke on the social issues of Nigerians. And it did this beautifully with humor embedded, too. The actors were amazing - from the main character, to the women of the church, I thoroughly enjoyed it all. If you're not African or share similar cultural values, I can understand why many of the beloved pieces of this movie could be lost on you. NOLLYWOOD has come such a long way. I'm really proud of this writing, and the incredible actors. 10/10 I look forward to more Nollywood movies like this on Netflix, and more of those writers, directors and actors. Cheers!

Brilliantly executed.

I rarely enjoy watching Nigerian movies, but this one got me really hard, the cast did an Amazing job with their lines, the actors were on point in every scenes, both from the comedic stand point and dramatic ones. One particular scene i enjoyed was the Pastor of the community with his wife finding out about their daughter pregnancy and the delivery on that didn't disappoint on depicting how most African parents react to this type of situations. Overall, i was smitten by the whole cast and will definitely put it on my most favorite Nigerian movies wacthlist. Keep UP the good work folks! Cheers!

It was a wonderful movie, but details left me wondering in the ending

Warning: Spoilers
Where was captain's bodyguards when he went to adire's home the last time? We all saw that he doesn't make a move without them. What happened to captain's body assuming that he died on impact? What will happen when no one sees him return? What about the business man he made the deal with won't he hackle adire for her to continue his proposal? (Hey the way the villagers stood at the house crying for help when the house was on fire had me so confuse cause bro, no one is trying to help put it out, I was even wondering if it's a case where there's no water source near her house or so, and the adire didn't even try to put it out, at one point I was like us captain's body and out it lol( this part added to make up word count))

Beautiful Uplifting Nigerian Movie

I really enjoyed Adiré. The movie touches upon themes of empowerment of women, male domination, arrogance within the church, judging others, and it also portrays some beautiful aspects of Nigerian culture. Adiré the protagonist, breaks free from the clutches of her violent, criminal pimp and starts her own successful lingerie line. She uses her own sexuality to make money and then the sexiness of her products to help her clients spice up their love life. Despite all the societal prejudice against her, a good man falls in love with her, she overcomes the judgement of the church members, her little community and her church are transformed for the better... goodness and love prevail over evil and hate... highly recommend bravo to all the beautiful actresses and the talented director !!!
