After a few slow chapters that even made me consider stopping watching the series, Cobra Kai is back to its best moments in Extreme Measures.

The chapter provides both plot and character advancement, with well developed scenes that are believable and that contain the right combination of emotions and humor. We also finally get some good and exciting fights involving key characters, as well as several Johnny-moments.

Extreme Measures even improves my opinion of the previous chapters, as the different breakups and conflicts (which I felt was turning this series into a regular soap opera) have placed the characters in the right situation for the events that take place.

Overall, I feel that this chapter brought us back to the best moments of Cobra Kai and sets the stage for a much more exciting second half of the season.

Warning: Spoilers
Now this was a amazing episode In my opinion ties with the finally of season 1 and 2 and maybe even 4 this episode was was so cool to see the roles flipped on Johnny and Daniel when Daniel was the one that was off the henges and Johnny was all together and the swap between Robby and Miguel on the balcony of the apartments and how they Fought it all out. I could not have asked for a better episode! I was never a fan of Robby but this episode changed that for me because he realized that he wasn't the best and that the past should be the past. Miguel's character arc was added in this episode because it shows his strength as a character and as a person because he had learned revenge strike first and he also learned balance but after meeting his Dad he was confused and it took strength for him not to kick Robby off that balcony. Overall this episode was a really solid 10 out of 10.

Best episode since seasons 1 & 2

What a great episode. The original feel of the show is back, but with the characters finally showing their development. The interactions between Johnny and Daniel, and Robbie and Miquel were the best. Johnny's scenes brought back the humor that was missing in recent seasons, although the best line was Anthony's: "Jean-Claude van Sam." Even the fight scenes, which were getting a little out of control and forced seemed authentic. I didn't even mind that Stingray was back, because he is necessary to advancing the plot. I am so looking forward to the 3 senseis coming up against and bringing down Terry Silver. There is still so much to be resolved with the students. Can't wait!

Warning: Spoilers
Fight fans here we go at the halfway mark.

After episode 4 insulted my honor I hope we can get back on track here? Here's hoping with fingers crossed.

Come to think about it, was there any karate displayed in episode 4?

To kick-off episode 5, cue the treble drum tap, because a flat tire just trudged through the door - Stingray.

Who'd want him on your team? He's the Travis Brickley of karate. (Look at you all Googling Travis Brickley because you can't recall who he is off the top of your heads. Amateurs.) Stingray's just a part time Lowe's worker who packs shelves, not punches. (He's not true Cobra Kai.)

It really is a small world as somehow Silver's obtained Johnny's old matte black Dodge Challenger. (I just had to Google that myself. Ahem.) Silver rewards Stingray with the automobile for taking one for the team at the end of season 4. (That's some 'Untouchables' teamwork right there.) So, this vehicle ploy is probably a scheme to lure Johnny into the web? Silver's stringing everyone along methodically and he uses any avenue to his advantage. Boy, he's sure got a lot of time on his hands to be playing these silly little retribution mind games.

OH MY GOD! IS THAT JESSICA ANDREWS? You see, it sure is a small world in the 'Cobra Kai' universe. So, Daniel's wife, Amanda, is cousins with Jessica Andrews? What are the odds, man? I bet Mike Barnes has some lineage to Forester himself, too? If not, I bet 'Cobra Kai' can change that overnight?

A revealing scene has a heated Daniel-San confess to Johnny some home truths, with bonus finger pointing included, (the alcohol for breakfast probably played a part in this scene?) Daniel barks, "If you hadn't reopened Cobra Kai none of this would be happening." No Daniel LaRusso, if you hadn't have threaded that hose over Johnny's head at the ball none of this would have happened.

I love Johnny's retort about Pandora's box. HAR HAR HAR. Good stuff.

Fight fight fight! Girl fight! Drunken behavior sees Jessica Andrews team up with Amanda where they bash up former classmates in a drunken barroom brawl. Yes, this is really happening. Catch the spirit. And I'll take the short odds that there will be some hair pulling.

It's kind of irresponsible of Johnny to sanction a bare fisted match off between Miguel and Robby in the carpark on concrete. Take it to a park, boys. We don't want anyone splitting their head open. Safety first, people. A lesson is learnt from this confrontation, through flashback memories and errors from the past, which results in both boys finding redemption and forming an alliance. Now they're besties and family, too.

Oh boy, here we go again in this cloistered small world. Daniel-San and Mr. Silver have another one-on-one verbal to lay down more ground rules. I thought the time for talk was over?

Now hang on. FORGET THE RULES - IT'S ON! Christmas has come early. They're into it, people.

At the 32:52-minute mark, Daniel-San and Silver, come to blows at Stingrays pad and I'm relishing every second of this like a pickle in chili brine!

Strike one, Daniel. 1-0. (So much for Cobra Kai striking first. Or is there still a little Cobra Kai left inside Daniel-San?)

Silver counters with a headbutt. Score - one a piece. (It was an illegal move, but who saw it?)

Side kick, Silver. Point Silver! Silver 2-1.

Daniel-San's fatiguing. He's tanking badly here. He's fading fast.

A palm push knockdown to Silver. It's another illegal move - no point! (That one was clearly evident.)

Score still 2-1 Silver.

Silver continues to taunt, and goad LaRusso, like Vader does against Luke in 'Empire Strikes Back.' More silly mind games. He can't help himself.

OH YEAH! The sucker move Daniel used on the beach against Johnny in the original 'Karate Kid' lands flush on Silver and was delivered all the way from the gutters of Newark. Eat fist, Silver!

2-2.

Next point wins.

I don't know who to cheer for - I like both of 'em.

Daniel's getting on top here. Bring it home, Danny Boy. He just absolutely Tong Poed that pillar! He's here using his 'Karate Kid 3' teachings learnt from Silver on Silver... and his knuckles are bleeding! Silver's getting beat up by a former student. Age is catching up to Silver. His arthritis is kicking in. Back pain city here we come!

OH NO! I spoke too soon! It's going pear-shaped all of a sudden. Zoinks.

Silver's found the mushroom from Mario Land and is warping Daniel-San into ground beef, pulp included. Pull his hair, Danny. Gutter tactics, gutter tactics. Silver just snapped, or dislocated, Daniel's arm. Daniel's losing badly. He's in BIG trouble. Throw in the towel. The fight's over! Stop the fight already.

HE'S DOWN! Daniel-San's down!

Silver - neutral corner!

Daniel-San's not gonna get up! The count is up to 5, 6, 7, 8.

IT'S ALL OVER! 9, 10. YOU'RE OUT!

DANIEL-SAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT!

In a show of bad sportsmanship, Silver is blabbering about real pain just beginning again. (Give it a rest, fella.)

If you watch the replay Daniel was holding his own and even got on top near the end one stage but years of experience came to the fold with Silver coming out on top. Talk about a boy taking on a man.

Terry Silver wins by KO in the third round. Silver wins! Terry Silver... Silver.

Daniel-San's resigned to his deathbed in the follow-up scene. I don't think any of that 'Karate Kid 3' foot potion will heel these wounds. Quick, get Barnes on the double! Where's Barnes? Call someone. Anyone. Daniel's dying. He's wounded badly. (I'm resisting the urge to quote Tommy's famous line from 'Karate Kid' round about now.)

Selling out Silver, and Cobra Kai behind their backs, Tory confides in Kreese all the saucy details of what's been transpiring and he subscribes to her pleas then pledges that Silver's going down one way, or another. I'm gonna get 'cha, get 'cha, get 'cha, one way, or another. Yeah, go get him, Kreese! Chop chop.

If this episode fails to resonate with the fan base then I don't know what will.

AWESOME STUFF! It's almost like a season finale.

Rock on, 'Cobra Kai.' In the words of Mr. Silver himself, "Perfect."

I'm Happy This Show Exists

Badas$. Ok, for real, no over expressing, no judgement based purely by hype whatsoever letting it be the one clouding my judgement or making me choose in a lenient way all, like, as though I am just caught in some happiness bubble that'll wear off.. no.... this truly was the best episode of the season so far, and easily makes my top five of the entire series. Why does it do that? What could be so important and unbelievably meticulous about this episode? It comes 25 minutes in to the episode, and I'm not spoiling anything this time, all I am going to say is for most Cobra Kai fans, it's something we have been waiting on happening a long time. For the most part, in some ways it's the number one thing I've wanted to see happen since at least season 2. It involves two people. That's all I'm gonna say there. The episode is top notch quality, outstanding, when it comes down to being articulate, emotional, and just... whole. Things I will mention though, in some more detail hence spoiler tag. Well, Stingray returns. You either hate this fool or you love to hate him. Or you simply just can't stand him. It isn't so much comic relief as it is your cringe character type with this dude, one trying to find a place to I guess you'd say a place to belong, in a way it's kind of wholesome, but he can be simply unbearable at times, almost like the writers are trying to get you to hate this dude lmao. Anyway he comes to the Dojo, with his mouth sewn, completely 100% abiding of Silver. Remember Johnny's car he has in season 2? That he leaves at the beach? Silver.. has it.. and gives it to Stingray lmfao. Furthermore, he's all 'PIMPed' out with this pretty stylish and awesome apartment, courtesy of.... That's right, Terry Silver. I can't. I was laughing hard at this point. You'll see for yourself when you get to the scene. It's just hilarious. We have this continuous Johnny, Miguel, Robby stuff going on; we have a pretty down, fatigued, very hopeless Daniel all alone at this point-other than Chozen being there-as the rest of the family aren't there- where are they? They're with a familiar face and it unravels a cool piece of background we aren't aware of at this point which was cool and kind of works on its own, but as for placement in this part of the story and given its Karate Kid III callbacks works even better; Kreese, though? I'll just leave it at that. Put it this way it's a masterful episode, and the ending is simply just so good.

This review is one I've had such a pleasure in writing.
