I had not been aware of this series until I was asked to be a part of it.
I choose to be believe that the title is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as the segments that rely on conspiracy theories are a stretch.
Sticking to what is factual, as that is my bailiwick, I give the producers kudos for procuring great archival film (some of which viewers are seeing for the first time) and for having sometimes uncovered verifiable information of which even veteran music historians like myself might be unaware. (We're all guilty of being interested in some musical genres rather than others.)
As a veteran publication editor, I appreciate the limitations of space, or in this case time, that can be devoted to coverage but I do feel a couple of supporting details were omitted from the segments on the history of the moonwalk and Kris Kristofferson, respectively.
Re: the latter, if the (co)creator(s) of the moonwalk was likely one of Michael Jackson's musical influences (i.e., a singer whose dance moves/athleticism was integral to the singer's performance) then the omission of Jackie Wilson's name is not a choice I would have made.
Similarly, when pondering the decidedly different stories Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson told re: Kristofferson's landing a helicopter on Cash's property, John Carter Cash is on record re: his father's account of the story as Cash recounted it to his son (beyond the late Cash's first-person sound byte as seen in this segment) and I would have substituted John Carter's video statement for that of one of the "talking heads"' (who apparently never met either Cash nor Kristofferson- I had the pleasure of interacting with both on multiple occasions) observations.
