Gunna is nearly ready to unleash his forthcoming studio album One of Wun — but he won’t say when it’s coming. The rapper shared the title of the record on Monday and unveiled its accompanying cover art, created by the visual artist Calvin Clausell Jr. In the image, Gunna’s face is concealed beneath a mess of blue and white flower petals.
While the project doesn’t yet have an official release date, it will likely arrive just in time for Gunna to kick off The Bittersweet Tour with Flo Milli in May.

The writing was not on the Coterie wall for Good Trouble showrunner Joanna Johnson with regards to the Freeform drama’s cancellation in early December 2023.
“After the writers’ strike ended, we were making schedules to get up and running, and I got a call from the network… saying, ‘Just a head’s up, a lot of things are changing in the business right now, and so, we kind of don’t know if we’re, for sure, going to get to pick the show up,'” Johnson tells TVLine. “We were all very surprised because we had left Season 5 99.9% sure...

In the series finale of Prime Video’s Expats, Margaret, Hilary and Mercy finally came to terms with the weight of their individual traumas, and the complicated and sometimes brutal roles they played in each others’ lives.

Composer Laura Karpman received her first Oscar nomination on Tuesday for Amazon MGM Studios’ American Fiction in Music (Original Score).
In a call with Deadline on Tuesday morning, Karpman is giddy to claim that she might have possessed a little foresight that led to this Oscar reigning moment as the film picked up a total of four other Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Jeffrey Wright for Actor in a Leading Role, Sterling K. “When I first saw [a cut of] American Fiction, I told Cord, Ben LeClair [producer] and Hilda [Rasula], the editor, that this was going to get an Oscar, that this was an awards film,” Karpman said. “So, I sent them a text that said, ‘I told you.’”

It’s been going on for a while, and it’s been even worse post-pandemic, but the Oscar halo effect for Best Picture nominees has diminished greatly.
Even though most of this year’s Best Picture contenders are available in the home, there are three in an exclusive theatrical release which look to make gains by Oscar night, March 10: Amazon MGM’s American Fiction, Searchlight’s Poor Things and A24’s Zone of Interest. For some studios, playing off the heat of Oscar nominations is still a business.

Dolly Parton isn’t done rocking yet. After sharing her new album Rockstar last week, our November cover star has returned with two new bonus tracks: Her rendition of the Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise,” plus a new version of her classic “Jolene” featuring Måneskin.
The Måneskin-assisted version of “Jolene” is available exclusively with the digital download version of Rockstar on Parton’s website, though the country icon did share a preview of the duet on Instagram. It sounds like the new recording stays fairly faithful to the original, with Måneskin’s Damiano David taking on co-lead vocals with Parton.
“Jolene” appears on the deluxe edition of Rockstar, which also features guest features from Sting, Steve Perry, Joan Jett, Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, Brandi Carlile, and many, many more. See a preview clip of Måneskin’s take on “Jolene” below.

Rockstar, the star-studded rock’n’roll album by our November cover star, Dolly Parton, has arrived. Stream it below.
Inspired by her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Rockstar is the 49th full-length release from Parton, and features a variety of new originals and classic rock covers, as well as a heap of guest appearances by artists like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr, Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Debbie Harry, Nikki Sixx, and many more.
Speaking with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for Consequence’s most recent cover story, Parton explained that when she found out she was voted into the Rock Hall, she “didn’t feel like [she’d] earned it.” To make up for that, she got into the studio and cut a proper rock album, without cutting any corners. “That was important to me: not to half-ass do a record that’s a country girl singing some rock,...

Gareth Edwards has many thoughts on the ending of “The Creator,” but he’s even more interested in what audiences think about how the sci-fi film — which depicts a war between mankind and AI — concludes.
In any war, the director notes, sacrifices are made. And in “The Creator’s” case, the ending is “bittersweet,” Edwards noted.
TheWrap asked him to elaborate on the final scenes and their implications (find out if there’s a post-credit here). Obviously, major spoilers from “The Creator” lie ahead, so you’ve been warned.
Spoiler alert: Read on for major plot reveals from “The Creator”
How does “The Creator” end?
In the final act, Joshua (John David Washington) rescues the AI child Alphie (Madeleine Yuna Voyles) from the U.S. Army.
Using Alphie’s ability to control machines, the two commandeer a commercial flight into space and fly to the orbital defense platform Nomad, just as the U.

Eminent filmmaker Ananth Narayan Mahadevan is in post-production on “Phule,” about the pioneers of women’s education in India.
Jyotirao Govindrao Phule and his wife Savitribai were social reformers known for their efforts against India’s endemic caste system. Phule’s first school for girls was founded in Pune, western India, in 1848. In 1873, Jyotirao Phule and his followers began the Satyashodhak Samaj (Truth-seekers’ Society) to campaign for increased rights for the underprivileged. In 1888, the honorific Mahatma (great soul), a term later used to describe Gandhi, was accorded to Phule.
“The two of them are lethal, the husband and wife, because at a time when the girl child was being refused education and just pushed into marriage, Jyotirao chose to actually educate his little wife – she was just 11 at that time, he was 17 when they got married, because it was the time of child marriage,” Mahadevan told Variety.

“Physical” on Apple TV+ was always going to end after Season 3. But even with that plan in place, star and executive producer Rose Byrne felt bringing the series to a close felt “insurmountable.”
She told TheWrap it’s because of the love she has for both the series and creator Annie Weisman’s storytelling that she feels “bittersweet” about this final outing, which began its 10-episode run Wednesday. The series finale is scheduled to premiere Sept. 27.
“It’s an incredible role and an incredible part,” Byrne said in an interview conducted ahead of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. “I’ve never read anything like this. It’s been a really creatively life-changing experience. I feel very protective of the show and Sheila.”
From the first meeting for Season 3, Byrne and Weisman were already discussing how they wanted to “close out” the story of Shelia Rubin, an ’80s housewife-turned-fitness idol. It...

Filmmaker Justin Simien was the main attraction at the July 15 red carpet premiere of his latest effort, The Haunted Mansion. But it wasn’t because he arrived in a floor-length cape, his tribute to the movie’s costume designer. It was because the hours-old SAG-AFTRA strike prevented his starry cast — Lakeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish and Jamie Lee Curtis among them — from joining. “‘Bittersweet’ is probably the best word for it,” the 40-year-old director explains two days later in his modest Los Angeles office. “I’m glad we got to show the movie [out July 28] — but with the strike and the Bob Iger comments, I feel like I crash-landed into [the event].”
Simien, like so many in Hollywood, is playing professional Whac-a-Mole this summer. Paramount TV suspended his Culture Machine shingle’s overall deal in May because of the stalemate between the studios and the WGA. He launched a GoFundMe to keep the lights...

Upon her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, Dolly Parton announced her intention to record a rock album. “If I’m gonna be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I’m gonna have to earn it,” she said at the time.
Parton has spent the last year making good on that promise by enlisting some of the biggest names in music to join her in recording a mix of rock ‘n’ roll originals and covers. The end result, aptly titled Rockstar, will arrive on November 17th via her own Butterfly Records in conjunction with Big Machine Label Group.
When Dolly calls, everyone answer. Just look at the massive 30-song tracklist for Rockstar: there’s literally a Beatles reunion! Steve Perry sings a Journey song! Lizzo plays jazz flute on “Stairway to Heaven”!

Christina Applegate says the final season fo “Dead to Me” may be her last on-camera appearance – and that she was glad to share it with dear friend and co-star Linda Cardellini.
“I’m probably not going to work on-camera again, but I’m so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I’ve ever known,” she said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis while filming Season 3 of the Netflix dark comedy, Applegate continued through to the show’s conclusion, making her first public appearance since her diagnosis last November to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
She spoke of her special connection to Cardellini

Thirty years ago when Robin Thicke was 16, he recorded his first album with R&b star Brian McKnight. But the music wasn’t epic.
“[The label] was willing to put it out, but there wasn’t going to be a lot of promotion money behind it, so I said, ‘Let’s shelve it,’” he recalls.
While still recording his own music, he went on to develop his musicality by writing and producing for others, including Michael Jackson, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jordan Knight, Brandy, Raven-Symoné, 98 Degrees, Marc Anthony, Mya, Color Me Badd, Guy Sebastian, Brownstone, Will Young, Kevon Edmonds, Ron Keating, Chante Moore and others.
But he needed to get back to making music for himself, so the early twentysomething decided he wouldn’t cut his hair until he heard his song on the radio.

Kevin Morby hasn’t completely closed the door on This is a Photograph, the introspective seventh studio album he released last year. On it, he walked a thin line between autobiographical and fictional storytelling while exploring the way childhood memories change with age. But even those 12 songs weren’t enough for him to feel at peace with it all, so he’s going back for more on More Photographs (A Continuum), set for release on May 26.

In my many years of seeing live music, few sights were as dispiriting as the first time I saw David Crosby up close. In the early Eighties, he played a solo show at New York’s Town Hall. Walking onstage, looking a little overweight, unkempt and shaggy in an untucked shirt and baggy pants, he plopped down on a wooden chair. His voice was a bit raspier than we’d heard on his records, and the blissed-out smiles and stage patter he was known for were Mia. At one point,...

Update Sunday Am: NBCUniversal on Sunday confirmed that its daytime syndicated talk show Maury will be wrapping with the current season, saying that it was a mutual decision between the studio and veteran host Maury Povich to end the talker made when Maury was most recently renewed in 2020 through the 2021-22 season.

Julian McMahon will be taking his final bow as Jess Lacroix on Tuesday night’s episode of FBI: Most Wanted, and Executive Producer David Hudgins has a juicy teaser for eager fans.
“The episode is a combination of two things,” Hudgins told Deadline on Monday. “It’s a very intense episode about domestic violence, which is something we’d always wanted to do because it’s such a huge problem in this country right now. It also ties in thematically with Jess’ experience with Sarah’s (Jan Landon) stalker, Hugh. We felt like that was an interesting additional layer to the episode. And then on top of that, we’ve got Jess and Sarah in a very good place, talking about going on the first vacation that Sarah has ever seen Jess take.”
Hudgins added: “He was amazing. I wish him all the best. And he was fantastic on the show.

As is the practice each year with the Government of Maharashtra selecting Marathi cinema for the Cannes’ Marche Du film, the Official selection for this prestigious section this year is Bittersweet, the hard-hitting drama of the emotional dilemma of women sugarcane workers in interior Maharashtra.
Bittersweet, produced by Suchhanda Chatterjee and Shubha Shetty of Quest Films had its world premiere at the Busan International Festival where it was an official selection. The film received rave reviews in Screen International which called it 'a conversation starter of a picture' and praised the debutante actress Akshaya Gurav for her performance as the protagonist.
Bittersweet is written and directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan who was overwhelmed by the headline in a prominent newspaper 'Beed: a village of women without wombs' that urged him to investigate and film the story on actual location, using real sugarcane cutters along with prominent Marathi actors Suresh Vishwakarma,...

It’s always nice to see a film to lay its cards on the table at the outset. Imagine my delight when Jamie Adams’ latest feature Bittersweet Symphony opens with a particularly saccharin Christmas celebration, suddenly interrupted by Submarine’s Craig Roberts. Playing ex-boyfriend to Suki Waterhouse’s Iris so obnoxiously, it’s impossible to believe that the family don’t throw him out at the earliest opportunity. When this lead weight of an opener then transitions to a needless time-jump to five days earlier, it’s safe to say the film has shown its hand.
Bittersweet Symphony is a true stinker of a film. Not a technical disaster of dodgy CGI, editing or staging. No, this is closer to something on the level of The Room, albeit with slightly more competent performance and direction. A human drama seemingly written by someone with only a passing understanding of human behaviour,...

You know the drill by now. Whenever there is a holiday or celebration of some sort, DC whip up a fresh helping of their 80 Page Giants. They usually consist of ten or so stories, by a mix of top name creators and some unknowns obviously given a short story assignment to bed them in gradually in readiness for greater things down the line. Story quality is usually as mixed as you would expect, some great stuff, some average, and some filler. Overall, though, you get good value for your money. So, February being Valentines, this time round we are in the mood for love….

Mumbai, Oct 17 (Ians) The Ananth Mahadevan directorial, Bittersweet, has been selected for the Kolkata International Film festival (Kiff) scheduled to be held from November 5 to 12. The film has been included in the Indian Competition section at the festival.
"The Kolkata film festival selection has always been extremely competitive, and hence 'Bittersweet' featuring in the Indian Competition makes it momentous," said Mahadevan.
Set in Beed, Maharashtra, the film addresses a harsh reality that female sugarcane cutters working in the fields face. The film shows how they are brutalised professionally and financially if they ask for 'periods leave' during menstruation.
The film, which has also been selected for competition at the prestigious Busan International Film festival, features Akshayaa Gurav.

The trailer of the hardhitting film Bittersweet released on Tuesday. Directed by Ananth Mahadevan, the film has been selected for screening at the Busan International Film Festival this year.
"The trailer was a challenge as this subject had never been dealt with before on screen. The launch of the trailer today expectedly brought in a huge viewership and some overwhelming reactions, both for the concept and the visual treatment of a burning topic," claimed Mahadevan.

Lee D’Avanzo, husband of “Mob Wives” star Drita D’Avanzo, was sentenced to more than five years in prison by a federal judge on Friday.
The 64-month sentence was handed down by Judge Rachel Kovner after D’Avanzo pleaded guilty to a felony weapon possession charge as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Officers discovered drugs and two loaded guns in a search of the family’s New York home back in December.
