Unusual and Interesting
keikoyoshikawa3 June 2023
I'm unfamiliar with British entertainer Sue Perkins, and stumbled upon this short travel series by chance. I'm glad I did. It is equally entertaining, unusual, and informative.

Ms Perkins shows us a side of Columbia, Mexico, Brazil, and Boliva that perhaps many of us have never seen before - simply because we're not familiar with Latin America. It's something I would definitely love to do if I had been her shoes. Well, some of it anyway :D

Along the way, we get to meet some interesting people with interesting stories. But these encounters are much too brief, and I wish some of them were a bit more longer and detailed. Because they are hardly typical or maybe even unethical.

What I liked most is that Ms Perkins is always respectful and good-natured, even or especially when she's participating in new and uncomfortable experiences. And I guess that's the whole point of the series, and it works.

Whoever were the series' fixers, they did a great job.

Fascinating, Funny and Worth the watch.

I am definitely a Sue Perkins Fan, I will basically watch anything she lends her hand to, as I find her funny and refreshing.

I was excited by the idea of this limited series - Sue feeling in a rut with life, travels to countries on the globe to awaken her sense of fun, passion and experience new things, somethings that are definitely not legal in other parts of the world.

I was especially fond of the last episode and Sue's experience on drugs. It was really brave of the series to do this. It was truly an interesting and at times sad part.

There as also a lot of laughs throughout and a very disturbing section on donkeys.

Definitely worth watching, if you want to experience something different.

This is the darkly comic travel show I've been waiting for

First Sue Perkins is hilarious.

And deciding to adventure in some really risky scenarios that really could result in bodily harm is pretty brave for anyone.

Travel explorers will appreciate the off the path locations and experiences in this show.

And if you're easily offended or squeamish might not be for you.

While there are some subjects that I would have rather not ever known about, the locations and different events (like Ultimate Lucha Libre) were things that I'd not seen and enjoyed learning about through Sue's witty and quintessentially English lens.

No Anthony Bourdain quips here, something new and decidedly different.

Disappointing.

As a South American it was really disappointing to see that the only good things you wanted to focus on about Colombia were related to sex, alcohol and shot guns. I was expecting a much better representation of the country and its population. As a South American, I felt it was quite disrespectful, I am pretty sure there many other good things to show and to do in Colombia. The first episode was so disappointing that I didn't had courage to check episode 2. I stop watching when the subject of interest of episode 1 fell into "sex with donkies" (quite disrespectful image of the country). I'm sure if I would travel to the UK just to look for free illegal stuff you also wouldn't like.
