Back in mid 2020, my younger sister started collecting the supertato books, and in my opinion, they were pretty solid stories with an actual plot. Supertato was quite smart with a few puns that got a chuckle out of me, and the evil pea was an actual threat to the veggies and I like that because most villains are comic relief these days.
When I heard about the show, I went into it with an open mind, thinking that it might be good. Looks like i set my expectations way too high on this one.
I can safely say that without a doubt, THE SHOW IS GARBAGE!
First of all, the characters. Supertato is a bumbling idiot just like Boris Johnson, and he isn't funny anymore. He can't even save himself most episodes because he's that dumb, and the evil pea isn't evil anymore. He's now a toned down, sulky, whiny babylike excuse for a villain. It's voice is horrible to listen to. And for some reason he's a girl now??? Why??? I don't have a problem with gender equality, but why would you make a MALE character, after eight years of existence, a FEMALE? Carrot is boring, that's all I have to say, and corn is on Team Evil Pea? Wait a minute, wasn't corn one of the super veggies in "veggies assemble"? Ugh! What did they do?
Second, the art style: it's got that pony life type of art style that I hate, but even then, dispite the fact that I don't like pony life, at least they're not that ugly.
And lastly, the episodes themselves. Supertato is a comedy, that's what it's meant to be, but the show isn't funny! Maybe a three year old will think it's funny because of its fart noises, but it's just not funny! I've had my parents ridicule me for hating it because they think that because I like Michael Jackson, I don't have the moral high ground. Like I don't have an opinion. But, before they were ridiculing me for liking MJ, it was everything else I'm into. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!!!
Conclusion, I hate the show, I wouldn't recommend it to a slug with brain damage.
