The first episode to the second half of Season 5 is dedicated to Kevin Cordasco, a teen superfan of the show who died of cancer in March of 2013. Before his death, Kevin was able to meet Bryan Cranston, Vince Gilligan and other prominent members of the Breaking Bad family, and he was even offered the chance to read the final scripts of the series so he would know how the show ends. Kevin declined because he didn't think he could keep the secret.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2018 for the 10-year anniversary article of the show, Bryan Cranston stated that "tread lightly" was his favorite line in the entire series.
This is the third episode directed by Bryan Cranston following Seven Thirty-Seven (2009) and No Más (2010).
This premiered almost a whole year after the previous fifth season episode: Gliding Over All (2012). Gliding Over All aired September 2, 2012, and this episode aired August 11, 2013.
Badger describes to Skinny Pete his fan story involving a partial body transport. However, due to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, the transporter contains a Heisenberg compensator. This is probably a self-reference to the Heisenberg character.
