Ditch Gabby
justforjunk-702504 August 2023
The show has some promise, but Gabby has to go. Who the h3ll does she think she is? A contestant on the episode with the electrician delivered a befitting blow to her with "what do the two relevant ones have to say" after Gabby was being her typical bratty, annoying, wannabe celebrity she seems to be. Eric and Knoxville are the gems of the show, yet somehow this terrible person landed this job. Replace or remove her.

To date, the first episode with the lady clown trying to prank her son has been the best. The male leads are funny and I think they could do more to help support some of the pranks. I'll continue to watch a little longer, but again, Gabby needs to go.

It's actually entertaining imo
micahjordan-1601211 June 2023
I'm seeing bad reviews here, and i've only seen the first episode but me and my brother watched it while high and we laughed our asses off, especially with the car prank. We even watched it again with our parents because they wanted to see it. The format is a little odd but I think they work with it great and I like that it was 40 minutes long. My favorite on the show is Eric Andre, but i like Johnny Knoxville as well. I did hear Eric Andre was close to quitting because Johnny was pranking him too much, so that kind of sucks on the production side of things. I don't know who Gabourey Sidibe is and to be honest i don't even know why she's here, It would've been better if her seat was filled with different guest stars throughout the season. Anyways, i think it's entertaining and can be funny!

Knoxville is a true master and the show is very decent
burkertgetsblown1 December 2023
The Prank Panel is first and for most, very entertaining! Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre are two of the most creative, avant-garde and explosive comedic forces of the last 30 years in my opinion and the two of them together for me is a no brainer! Why is Gabourey Sidibe in the mix? Every single episode I ask myself that question. I say this as a fan of Gabourey, I loved the coven season of AHS Sidibe was in and who can't appreciate her acting chops in Precious?! I still don't understand why Gabourey is on a panel with two of the greatest pranksters of all time. Putting Gabourey on this panel feels like shoving the wrong puzzle piece in the right place. Gabourey is an awesome actor and the Prank Panel is truly fantastic at times but the show and Sidibe are most of the time just not right together.

Eric Andre makes laugh maybe harder than anyone in the world sometimes and has good moments on The Prank Panel but is in my opinion outshined by the true master of pranks Johnny Knoxville. Anytime Johnny is heavily involved with one of the pranks it just shines so brightly and works so well. Johnny takes pea king from a fun joke thing to almost a legit art form. He really just always seems to know what to do to take things to the next level and is a true master of this craft.

Sometimes the pranks are at such a high level of intensity that I cringe to the point of hiding behind the covers like a teenage girl watching horror movies.

If you're looking for laugh out loud and easy television to watch.. this is it..! Give it a try!!

Funny and entertaining, but could be better
connorschumock11 July 2023
If you're a fan of prank shows, you'd like this show. As a big fan of Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre, I was really intrigued with the show. Two episodes in and it's enjoyable, but not amazing. Definitely a show that would be better on a non-cable network as many of the pranks are quite tame, but still funny. Personally, I think Gabourey Sidibe takes away from the quality of the show. Her chemistry with the rest of the crew is really bad, she is also extremely negative throughout the show and to the contestants and doesn't offer much comedic relief, and just seems out of place on the show. Worth a watch of you enjoy prank shows!

Love the show, gabby is awful. Self centred and rude
sherry_bobbins1 August 2023
The show is so great. I am unsure of why gabby is part of the cast. She is rude, self absorbed and doesn't get along with Eric Andre and Johnny Knoxville, the girl who is on the show who stared in jackass forever should be the other panelist, at least she can handle a prank or have a laugh. Gabby takes the spotlight and makes the energy seem negative and has a weird vibe because she ruins it with her harsh and horrible comments. I'm all for harsh and horrible jokes. But hers are something else. I think they are meant to be a joke, but her delivery makes it seem so dark and not in a good way. The show is great but she needs to tone it down or learn to get along with others and seem like you are part of the team and not act like you are the boss of them. I like gabby in other stuff but in this she is just not executing it very well.

I think they need someone else or she needs to have an attitude adjustment and be friendly and not Debbie downer.

Want to like it but Gabby ruins it.
airbornejumper2 September 2023
This show could be really funny and good but, gabby just sucks all the fun and good spirit out of all the situations. She is clearly a self conscious miserable person and it shows with how she interacts with not just the guest but her coworkers. I want to watch the rest of the season but just can't stomach her. Please get rid of her, I don't understand why or how she is related to anything comedy. She clearly isn't in the league with Knoxville and Eric. I could watch those two mess with each other all day but she just is an angry rude mess and basically ruins everything when she talks. I've stopped watching the show but hope they replace her or get rid of her altogether . From a lot of other reviews it seems I'm no the only one who thinks so.

Gabby is SOOO MEAN.
zackcervantes20 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I understand that she's probably been through a lot in her life. But I feel like she reflects her anger from her past to the contestants in the show. Like I agree that she is kind of out of place in this show and it's not like her strong suit. I think she's a good actor but I think she should stick to acting. But there's been many instances in the show where she just acts like a bully. Like it's almost like a hypocritical thing for her to insult a contestant about the size of his "private area"... But at the same time being against the body shaming. Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre fit really well and they are entertaining... Gabby just makes me not want to watch the show because of her anger issues.

Gabourey Sidibe Is awful
tinydracula5 June 2023
Seriously why is she even a panelist with this show? What's the relation between her with Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre?

She really is a charisma vacuum and even admits on the first episode "oh I'm for more diversity." Atleast she realizes she doesn't belong there. Probably just needing work.

I hate to make all this about her. But it's really hard not to because she just has such a negative self satisfying rude attitude towards all the possible participants.

She acts like she should decide personally who gets on and visibly doesn't get along well with Johnny Knoxville or Eric Andre.

If she wasn't a panelist on this show I'd rate it much higher. But I hope whoever is over this show realizes how negative and unnecessary she is to this project. Otherwise I doubt this show will get past 2 seasons with this.

If Gabourey Sidibe is fired I'll change my rating to a higher grade.

PLEASE FIRE Gabourey Sidibe she is awful!

Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre are awesome though! They have unlimited potential for entertainment as they have obviously done successful prank type shows as a career. If it isn't broke don't fix it. And Sidibe is broke so please fix it by giving her the boot.

No need for Precious to be here but still entertaining
waggs-ny13 July 2023
Just because someone won an Oscar and I mean you could substitute my comment for Daniel Day-Lewis I'm not knocking her weight or anything else but she literally has absolutely no comedy chops and has nothing to do with the prank world. I mean Ashton Kutcher do you mean anything you can see is raking in the dough but sure he has some free time on his hands and will be a much more logical choice. I love these shows but please stop forcing people into roles that literally make zero sense.

And today I'm here a good prank show has been in style for over 50 years now so no surprises if we'll executed it it will be funny and the show is no less I don't think we need the selection format process it just takes away from it. Punk'd was great because it just got down to it. Watch Stoned send you'll enjoy.

Just awful
amity138225 July 2023
Gabourey is horribly obnoxious and out of place. Eric doesn't even want to be there, and Johnny is just a sad reminder of his heyday. The cast is just awful, the pranks are stupid and super weak. None of the pranks have even worked. They spend 15 mins bashing people and their traumas, pick the weakest prank, then fail. 2 pranks per show, the rest is a bunch of failed attempts to be funny. Show is honestly one of the worst things airing right now.

It should be canceled because anyone could create a better show that this drivel. There are no pranks,, just failed attempts to upset people. Then Johnny will come in almost hyperventilating and laughing. Over what?

Good, clean fun!
Parasite-B20 September 2023
I really don't get the negative comments here. This show is gold! And very well needed for a laugh in these times that we live in.

There's none of that "it's just a prank bro" BS. Just nice clean comedy.

As for what people are saying about the cast, you can see that they're enjoying what they're doing, and Gabourey, well, to me she doesn't come off as obnoxious or self-centred at all. The full cast in this are perfect for the show.

It's such a shame that people don't really take pleasure from things anymore, and seem to have a "tear the world apart, and judge everything negatively" attitude.

Loosen up, have some fun. Stop being so sensitive and serious about everything. We only have one life, enjoy it while you can.

Lastly, season two, please!

Pretty bad
rscjsrv17 July 2023
How much did Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre get paid to be on this? Huge fan of both guys but damn... they were just put on here for the name value. I really wanted to like it but it's just so cheesy and cliche. They had a decent budget for the pranks but I just feel like this show is super restricted by production for Johnny and Eric to really be themselves. Wondering if Johnny and Eric actually have any say in what the pranks end up being because they don't really seem to be their style. They are only there to pick which pranks are gonna be done (are they really the ones picking though?) and behind the scenes on the pranks. It's basically mtv punkd (which hasn't aged well) 20 years later but worse.

Need something more
millie-6779315 September 2023
The way you guys come out at the end of the prank is a real buzzkill. You just walk out and tell the victim. That's boring. Any other idea would be better. Even if Johnny walked out and got involved in the prank would work. If the victim knows him, he will know it's a prank. If they don't know him you could just keep adding people until the person they know shows up. We need a climax. We need a great look at the realization the victim has when he understands that he has been pranked. Just the fact that the victim has to be told that it's a prank really takes away from the fun. Let them realize it themselves.

Everything good but Gabourey on it
allieharris-7978524 July 2023
It's a funny show with Knoxville and Andre but do not get why Gabourey is on the show. Should have had just Knoxville and Andre or found a real comedian in place of Gabourey. She is TERRIBLE! Makes no sense to have her as a panelist. The pranks are really good and genuine. Super entertaining but I stopped watching of the distraction of Gabourey on the show. She adds no value but takes away from the show. Please take her off the panel. This show is needed so people laugh but I feel a lot of people will tune it out because Gabourey is on the show. The episodes are just the right length and genuine.

Fool me once, fool me twice..
willardwardiii31 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
You'd think a prank show hosted by Eric Andre and Johnny Knoxville would be a slam dunk. Unfortunately, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel somehow found a way to miss the mark.

First of all, "Academy Award-winning" Gabourey Sidibe (read: Precious) given her relevance and comedic history, adds to the show as much as you would expect her to. Even acknowledging she was the diversity hire because "Eric didn't count enough", one of the few jokes which actually land. Aside from making zero sense from a casting perspective, she just isn't very likeable here. I don't have any other versions of her to compare, but her attitude and comments during the show come across poorly.

Next, we have Eric Andre. The individual who has the most relevance today than the other two hosts, and in my opinion the funniest by far. However, as the series progresses it becomes clear that Andre is well aware of the show's trajectory, and his presence onscreen slowly degrades to one of uninterested boredom. Fans of Andre will watch, waiting for his humor, realizing this is not an Eric Andre show.

Lastly, (dusting off the cobwebs) Johnny Knoxville is back again to deliver his "brand" of prank comedy. I know many people still love Knoxville and the whole Jackass legacy, but I've grown tired of it after so many years. If someone out there still laughs at Johnny nut-slapping whoever he stands next to, by all means, you keep doing you. Knoxville is the energy this show needs, and he honestly does his best to keep it going. As the show progresses the line between "energy" and "desperation" becomes blurrier, and Knoxville's forced laughter does little to hide his awareness of The Prank Panel's failure.

Now given all that, does this show even succeed at anything? Not really. Maybe two or three pranks are worth watching, but you'll have to sit through 20 min of filler to find them in an episode. While I do appreciate getting to know the people coming on the show, and there are some funny moments with them, most of the time is building for the "payoff" during the prank. And I should say, the actual payoff is sometimes so lackluster, you'll be wondering "is that really it?"

Below I included a moment when Johnny Knoxville's forced laughter was most noticeable for me.

**SPOILER** The most telling instance of Knoxville's realization that this show has failed comes during a prank involving a young man targeting his mother and grandmother. He wants to scare them as payback for his childhood trauma, but neither of the two are even remotely affected by the prank. The joke of the episode is twisted into how unresponsive they were to any threat thrown at them. But during this, Knoxville is clearly (annoyed?) that the prank failed so miserably. He laughs loudly and indicates he thinks it's funny how bad it's going, but really he knows the production invested too much to cut the prank so they have to show it anyways. If you watch this prank you'll notice Johnny's obvious forced laughter while watching it unfold on hidden camera.

Experimental First Season
theknownames29 August 2023
They have something here, the bones of it anyway. The season unfolds as different approaches and ideas are tried out and we find that .some things work and some don't.

The practical jokes are done well though and the show isn't afraid to make mistakes . The panel is actually great since I wasn't too sure about wanting to spend time with any of these three , however over a few episodes I have cone to appreciate what each brings to the panel. The commonality appears to be that each is a polarizing personality , each funny in their own right. They are not there to be so funny or to become a favorite but more about how they jive together and what their diversity ( comedic and otherwise ) brings to scene.

The season experiments with the details and development ( which don't always work but that's okay and it's interesting ) yet the premise remains consistent . They are there to orchestrate a prank for the right person if they so choose . Nothing is cruel no one is harmed and we have a chance to see the participants before and after their prank has played out.

Each of the pranks are personalized and a good deal of care goes into each. Not everyone who approaches the panel has a good prank idea or a deserving 'mark ' which is also part of the show.

This is a family show, it's not over the top .

The opening montage ,I can't stand personally ,so I go to lengths to skip that every time. While I originally felt compelled to skip ahead to the pranks , the build up and choices are valuable and we can invest in the prank unfolding ,as viewers.

I really hope there is second season as there is something here and we have been appreciating it ! Every episode is different to some extent ,so if some aspect doesn't hit its because it's working itself out .

Give it a shot . There isn't anything else quite like it , as it's a sort of cross between a game show and prank show.

I went from an 8 to a 9 because of all the shows we are watching ( and trying to remember that we are watching ) this is the one we looked foreword too this one after a grueling journey .

The prank show that fails to prank
joshkimberly-426172 February 2024
I'm a Huge fan of Jackass and Impractical Jokers so when I saw this show I naturally felt like it would be awesome. I WAS WRONG,

To pull a worm out of a ladies ear with a coke can reminds me of a weird uncle's idea of a good time.

It's cringe, kindergartner lvl humor, and simply doesn't hold up to what this trio should be able to accomplish,

Give this show a hard pass TV viewiers.

It appears I have to add 200 more characters to be able to post this review so I'll say that this show sucks, is garbage, isn't funny, the hosts hate it, the hosts have to force themselves to laugh, signs go up to signal when the audience needs to laugh.

Show is really funny; Sidibe is not
jwmassoth25 August 2023
The pranks have been funny, I'm not sure why the reviews are so harsh. I was CRYING laughing during the clown prank. There have been some duds, but mostly just the ones that Sidibe does. Knoxville's and expert at the pranks. Eric's are funny too. I hope they do another season but please remove Sidibe. I just think she's mean spirited and it ruins aspects of the show. They have called her out multiple times for being too mean to guests. And she doesn't care at all. It's clear she's very insecure and she keeps bringing up race? Like for what reason? The chemistry is all off with her. Overall, it's a good show. Made me laugh. You'll enjoy it if you give it a chance.

Strange format
thetylermorale6 August 2023
I'm not a fan of the Shark-Tank-like prank pitch setup. It feels like a painful American idol where they just make people feel bad for lame ideas. Then the setup watching the pranks in front of a live audience feels off. Without Jonny Knoxville or Eric Andre this show would be a pass for me. It doesn't seem to be either of their styles. Or at least a very watered down version.

I liked the little bit of pranks slipped in on the people pitching a joke before they pitch. It feels more organic and not so structured. It's not a 1 star terrible. . . Might be moderately entertaining for some, so 4/10.

Gabrielle Sidoube ruins this show
kylevincent-5451214 August 2023
This show isn't great. The pranks are blah and it's clear that the production is holding the show back from having any promise. I think they spent their entire budget getting Knoxville and Eric Andre. It does offer SOME entertainment whenever Sidoube isn't on the screen though. At first I thought she was playing a character (poorly) but as the episodes go in it's clear she is just a rude, unfunny and genuinely mean person. It's really difficult to watch, a show like this needs to have some heart and she brings a really negative energy. Hope they find a replacement if it gets renewed (it won't)

DONT WASTE UR TIME
andypdonaldson5 June 2023
This is the worst show ive ever seen!

Eric André and Johnny Knoxville are just hired as hosts of the show - and Jimmy Kimmel is the producer - which explains why the show isn't funny

The show is proper lame PC "pranks" if u can even call it that - first prank was kind of funny - but not really -- second one wasn't funny at all - If this is what comedy is in 2023 I think id rather not watch any TV anymore and just live in a cave like Osama Bin Laden!

Not sure who the woman host of the show is - She doesn't really do anything - so I dont know why she is there - maybe a friend of Jimmy Kimmel!

Eric Endre should be ashamed of himself for being in this show! Shame on you Eric Andre!

Has Potential With Changes
HiddenKamo7 August 2023
While I find the show entertaining overall, I think some aspects of the show fall flat.

First, the pranks rarely seem to reach an apex and you're always left feeling like there wasn't quite enough done to prank the "victim". However, there have been several very funny pranks, notably the clown mom prank and and the wedding prank.

Sometimes it seems like they spend too long interviewing candidates and then not end up using their ideas, so it feels like a waste of time in terms of the episode. It seems that the point of interviewing the prankster candidates is purely for pointing out that the prank ideas are dumb. *Sometimes* it's funny, but it usually seems like it's just to fill time.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue with the show is Gabourey Sidibe. She doesn't have great chemistry with Eric Andre or Johnny Knoxville, and seems to enjoy being condescending to the guests. S1 E6 was especially bad, being at times unfunny and offensive, and I'm honestly not sure why they aired it. She was so unapologetically rude to the two friends for such a small reason, and spent the entire episode griping about it and actively trying to insult them. It was uncomfortable viewing for a prank show. I have never watched this actress in anything else, even Precious, and I know very little about her, but she seems to have a chip on her shoulder that carries into this show so unnecessarily.

If it gets renewed for a 2nd season, I think it would be much improved by finding an alternate third host or just using Eric & Johnny.

THIS SHOW SHOULD NEVER HAVE EXISTED! DO NOT WATCH!
dw-071563 July 2023
"The Prank Panel" is one of the worst shows on American network television thus far. It just goes to show you that people are so mean and ignorant these days. Why would anyone want to watch this mindless crap? I don't understand why people actually want to watch programs that show people inflicting pain on others physically/emotionally such as "The Prank Panel", "America's Funniest Home Videos", "The Bachelor", "The Bachelorette", among others. NETWORK TELEVISION SUCKS!!! There are better, wholesome, and more family-friendly programs to indulge in that the television programs on the ABC network.

Copyright violation? This show is a ripoff of Revenge Prank.
randymcbeast29 July 2023
I was looking forward to this especially being a Johhny Knoxville fan. A prank show, sure, why not, but then I watched it and come to find out that it's a rip off of the Jersey Shore boys' Revenge Prank with DJ Pauly D and Vinny Guadanigno. Complete ripoff. Will MTV be suing for such a blatant copyright violation?

Worse than it being a ripoff is that it's painful to watch. The first joke of the show, an affirmative action joke that completely misses the runway and then it's downhill from there.

My body and mind had very negative reactions to watching so I quickly stopped to protect my physical and mental health. You've been warned.
