  Auggie Anderson : We might need to find a new place, but, hey, variety's the spice of life, right? Now, I am not going to get blamed for undermining your op.

  Annie Walker : [as they walk along]  I'm sure Joan will find some other reason to keep me in the doghouse.

  Auggie Anderson : What is going on between you two? The friction is so palpable, I'm almost glad I can't see it.

  Annie Walker : She asked Eyal Lavine for a full cogent profile on me.

  Auggie Anderson : Well, you have been through a lot lately.

  [she pushes button of elevator] 

  Auggie Anderson : Maybe she just wants to make sure you're doing okay. Eyal knows you well.

  Annie Walker : That's what he said.

  Auggie Anderson : And it just might be true.

  Annie Walker : You sound like you're on her side.

  Auggie Anderson : I'm on your side. Which reminds me why I wanted to talk to you.

  Annie Walker : [smiles]  Oh, you admit it. You do wanna talk to me about something.

  [pushes button again] 

  Auggie Anderson : What can I say? I'm a talker. What you're about to do, is a huge gamble. If you can get there and decide not to go for it, I won't think any less of you. No one will.

  Annie Walker : [confidently]  I know what I'm doing.

  Auggie Anderson : [smiles, elevator door opens]  Like I said, whole armies.

  [she smiles, whacks him on the shoulder, enters elevator] 

  Auggie Anderson : Call me when you land!

• Steve Barr : [intercepted by strict man, his arms folded]  Arthur Campbell or Joan?

  Annie Walker : Ah... excuse me?

  Steve Barr : I'm asking you a question. Who sent you?

  Annie Walker : [smiling, shaking her head]  I don't... I don't know what you mean.

  Steve Barr : Fine. You're going to play it that way. Your being here... is in direct violation of American diplomatic policy.

  [she scoffs] 

  Steve Barr : Come on, let's go call your parents.

• Annie Walker : [on cell phone, leaving hospital]  Play the 'What If' game with me.

  Auggie Anderson : Ooh, one of my favorites. Okay, a brilliant young operative flies to Minnesota to turn a valuable asset.

  Annie Walker : What if she's caught by the State Department?

  Auggie Anderson : [sighs]  She calls for advice.

  Annie Walker : What if Joan and Arthur cave to State and send her home?

  Auggie Anderson : If we're talking about the same operative, she uses whatever time she has left to pursue her objective.

  Annie Walker : What if she's been banned from the building?

  Auggie Anderson : Then she finds a way to make him leave it.

  Annie Walker : [halts, smiles, turns around, has idea]  Auggie, you're brilliant.

  Auggie Anderson : That's not a 'What If' statement.

  Annie Walker : You win.

  Auggie Anderson : I usually do. Listen. I'm stepping into a meeting for the next hour. Call me if you need anything, all right? You're my top priority.

  Annie Walker : I'll be fine. No worries.

  [clicks off, walks on] 

• Annie Walker : [after running from the two agents]  How do you feel about those cigarettes now?
