"She's a good kid.She just got a bit lost."

Astonishingly, this does manage to be a fitting exit for Ruby, even as she's packed off to what looks to be a long stretch in jail. She's gone through a bad place and come out the other side a better person, but she still has to face the consequences of what she's done. And while a few people are less sympathetic than they could be, notably Marilyn whose only function in the episode seems to be to badmouth her, she manages a quiet dignity in her final scenes with Leah, Brax and Georgie, whose return shows just how much she's been missed, and her apology to a comatose Dex.Even the rather odd way she's just allowed to walk away from the hospital doesn't annoy as much as it could.

April manages to be annoying once again, notably in the way she barracks Sid having apparently forgotten Dexter's his son.Irene shows an amazing lack of consideration in trying to get her to abandon her plans to move in with Dex.Sid once again stands out with his silent despair at his son's condition nearly boiling over as he admits to April he can't fix him.

The rest of the episode...well, the way Ruby's departure is used as a plot device to force Brax and Natalie together is annoying and Harvey's proposal to Roo feels out of place.Only the John/Gina/Jett subplot, and Jett's surprising pleasure at finding out who his father is, manages to retain the interest.
