Joe Berlinger’s hit Netflix “Crime Scene” franchise has expanded to Germany. “Crime Scene Berlin: Nightlife Killer” marks the first international local market produced version of the true crime doc series, which is being released globally on April 3.
“Nightlife Killer” is a German language docuseries that was produced in Berlin and managed by Netflix Germany. Berlinger served as an executive producer on the three-part series that reconstructs the case of several mysterious murders in Berlin’s nightlife that became nationally known as the “Coma Killer” in 2012. Like the three previous U.S. versions of the franchise, “Night Life Killer” explores not just a story of crime but how the geography and social values of the crime scene location contributed to the crime itself.
“We were looking for a crime story in a location whose history and social values contributed to the crime,” Berlinger says, who is in year four of a multi-year deal with Netflix.

HBO Max had a solid streaming performance during the week of Dec. 5-11. According to Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart, “The White Lotus” and “Friends” put the streamer among the most popular services that week.
Coming in at No. 7, “The White Lotus” made an appearance on the chart following the premiere of the Season 2 finale, which aired on Dec. 11. Within only a few hours of availability, the series raked in 752 million minutes viewed. It’s safe to say that figure will likely grow in the days to come since only first few hours availability made the cut for Nielsen’s measurements this week.
“Friends” received an unexplained bump in views weeks after Thanksgiving, placing the series at No. 8 on the overall streaming chart and No. 4 on the acquired titles list with 737 million minutes viewed. It’s hard to tell what spurred the series into the overall top 10 list, but it...

In its second week on Netflix, Wednesday once again dominated the Nielsen U.S. streaming charts. The series accumulated 5.3B minutes viewed from November 28 to December 4.
It was Wednesday‘s second week in a row with more than 5B minutes viewed — a milestone that has only been achieved seven times from four shows.
Wednesday combined for 11.3B viewing minutes across its first two weeks on the charts, which comes in second only to the 12.3B minutes Stranger Things racked up during its initial release window. It’s important to note that Wednesday is only eight 60-minute episodes, while Stranger Things had 32 episodes to leverage at the time.

Netflix’s Wednesday easily repeated in the top spot on Nielsen’s latest U.S. ranking of streaming originals, again busting through the 5-billion minute threshold.
For the week of Nov. 28, Wednesday amassed 5.3 billion minutes viewed across its eight episodes. That brings its two-week tally to 11.3 billion minutes, which is second only to the 12.3 billion minutes that Stranger Things racked up from May 23 to June 5 (and that was with 32 episodes available).

The “Wednesday” craze continues.
During the Nov. 28-Dec. 4 viewing window, the popular Netflix series recorded 5.3 billion minutes viewed in its first complete week of availability, breaking another Nielsen streaming record. There have only been seven times that a program has crossed the 5 billion threshold and “Wednesday” is the fourth program to do so.
This marks the second time the series has managed such a feat. In its first five days of availability, the series quickly snagged 5.988 billion minutes viewed upon opening on the streamer setting a record for the second biggest week of streaming ever recorded by Nielsen. It’s defeated only by “Stranger Things” Season 4, which was viewed for 7.2 billion minutes in its first complete week of availability.
With only eight episodes available versus “Stranger Things'” 32 episodes at that time, it’s safe to say the number of shows gave the series a great boost over the Jenna Ortega-led series.

Just two weeks after its debut on Netflix, “Wednesday” is one of the streamer’s most popular series of all time.
With a total of 752.5 hours viewed since it premiered on Nov. 23, the series is already the No. 3 most-watched English-language TV title in Netflix history. Netflix calculates this list based on a project’s performance during its first 28 days of availability, meaning that “Wednesday” still has two more weeks to continue climbing the rankings.
For comparison, the No. 1 position belongs to “Stranger Things” Season 4 with 1.35 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days, and “Monster — Dahmer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” follows with 856.2 million. A closer look reveals that “Wednesday” may well be on track to surpass both of them.
Like “Wednesday,” “Stranger Things” Season 4 made its debut on the Most Popular list at No. 3 in its second week on Netflix — but with 621.8 million hours, which is 130.7 million less than what “Wednesday...
