- Noah is one of the last men left on Earth after a highly contagious virus, called Canine Parvovirus, has taken over the entire world over the last few years and has caused humankind to suffer severe extinction. He tries his utmost to stick to his established daily routine since this is the only thing he has left, together with his dog, and tries to survive day by day. His wife passed away after she got sick from the virus and he has to keep his promise to her to keep the remains of the family alive - himself and Simon, the dog. Every morning he listens to the radio transmission - The Emergency Broadcast System, where one day he hears that survival bunkers are recruiting a selected number of people who will be granted the chance of survival. The devotion to his daily routine and the constant waiting for his name to be called out keeps him pushing forward. Noah knows that he and the dog need to stay inside as instructed by the radio transmissions because of the high contagion levels of the virus that have now reached 98%. The dog, however, keeps trying to show Noah a way towards somewhere outside and after disregarding his attempts several times, Noah makes the decision to follow him finally. The dog takes him over to a familiar path - its own grave, where Noah slowly starts to realize that his dog is imaginary and has already passed away shortly after his wife. Left entirely alone with his mind, lost between what's real and what's not; Noah also loses the radio transmission signal. With this being the last straw, his emotions come to the surface, and he faces his own demons. Soon after he leaves his house, unfortunate as he is, the radio transmission announces the admission of all survivors of the virus in the bunkers.
