Violence & Gore

  • There's a scene in the beginning that Ichabod decapitates a soldier (later known as the Headless Horseman) and both characters fall to the ground. Some drops of blood are seen when this happens, however, this is brief.
  • The Headless Horseman decapitates two characters. The first one happens offscreen (and we later see the head of the victim on the floor) and the second one happens in the PoV (Point of View) of the victim, or in First Person angle. Both deaths are non-bloody and non-graphic, but might be violent as well.
  • When Ichabod is remembering what happened next when he decapitated the soldier, he is seen in a bed with a medic, his wife and other characters. We see that Ichabod's chest is covered in blood. This scene is somewhat blurry and repeats itself many times in the first episode. The bloody chest part is brief.
  • There's another flashback that involves the scene when the decapitated soldier and Ichabod are falling to the ground. We see that their blood are running down the ground and it's assumed that they are are being mixed. This scene last some seconds.
  • In a cemetery scene, we see the Headless Horseman shooting a shotgun trying to hit Ichabod. This might be an action scene. No blood results.
  • In the same cemetery scene, Abbie bites hard the thumb of an officer. There's no blood, but the officer screams. This might might be violent as well.
  • A witch kills a man by incinerating his car. The witch touches the car's windshield and it explodes with the man inside. When this happens, the car is seen from the outside. This doesn't last very long, but might be violent as well.
  • A witch is burnt alive in a flashback. She starts screaming but this scene doesn't last very much.
  • A witch is incinerated in a tunnel. We don't see her body when and after this happens. It's all offscreen.
  • A woman jumps to her death and lands on a vehicle.
  • A man shoots himself.
  • In a dreamworld, a nightmare demon effortlessly slashes off half of Ichabod's left arm (which dissolves into sand).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In the pilot episode, Ichabod is having a nightmare in a asylum and some medics are going to give him a tranquilizer through a shot. But one officer comes to the scene before this happens.
  • In the second episode, a woman is given a medical pill. When her nurse leaves, she spits out the pill and grinds underfoot and blows away the dust.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Creepy flashbacks of a blurry demonic figure climbing out of the ground in a forest.
  • You see a tall, blurry demonic figure with ram horns kill its servant with telekinesis by snapping the servant's head all the way back.
  • In the beginning of the second episode, when Ichabod is having a nightmare, the burned face of a witch is seen before he wakes up. This may frighten some viewers.
  • In the second episode, Andy is transferred to a morgue (his body is in a bag) but later he get out of the bag and is seen with his head all the way back. The Demon appears and and fits his neck again. Later, Andy puts his hand inside of his mouth and pulls out a necklace. This scene is disturbing and it clearly affect many viewers.
  • In the third episode, Abbie has a nightmare with a disturbing creature: white skin, no mouth, black, hollow eye sockets. Through the episode, two people die of suicide due to the creature. The creature appears more in the second half of the episode and is of Mohawk mythology (the Mohawk version of the Boogeyman). It dies by Abbie confronting a past lie and revealing the truth, transforming the demon into glass that shatters.
