Lovely Peak Behind the Scenes

This is a really fun glimpse into the making of "Sherlock". It includes some film of the first read through of Season 3, where they talk about the need for utter secrecy. There is also some film of the very first read through and perhaps some others. I enjoy all the interviews with the writers, producers and actors. There are lots of interesting insights into the characters and plot. However, I was somewhat taken aback that the narrator describes Molly Hooper as a "lab technician". This is a gross gap in knowledge about the series. Consider that Molly does autopsies and had the authority to certify his death. She must be an MD. Sherlockology lists her profession as "pathologist".

Pretty forgettable documentary that offers nothing too interesting

Warning: Spoilers
"Sherlock Uncovered" is listed as a television movie here on IMDb, but it actually is a DVD feature (season 2 DVD of "Sherlock"). It runs for slightly under 20 minutes (and not slightly under 10 as it says on IMDb right now). It features interviews with some of the core player from the successful television show, but honestly I found them as bland as they are on the show. So yes, I am definitely not a fan of "Sherlock" and I only enjoyed 2-3 episodes and found the rest was garbage because Cumberbatch is not a talented actor at all and Freeman is only slightly better. But this review should not be about the show, so lets take a look on this special here. It starts really really bad when the makers and the stars of the show keep boasting about how everybody loves the show and how everybody wants to see the actors shooting it and how the critics praise it and how hard-working they are and how it is such a passion project etc. So basically what you not only hear in 2 out of 3 making-ofs, but also what makes the people saying these words really seem narcissistic and full of themselves. Really cringeworthy stuff and had it gone on like that, then I could never have given it a 4 out of 10. It gets slightly better afterward. Yes there are more cringeworthy moments like the stuff Cumberbatch and Freeman say when they are talking about a fight sequence of their characters (zero comedic talent these two have apparently), but luckily there are also some elaborations on the story and characters and films that are a bit on the insightful side and fans will certainly appreciate these moments. Then it also gives a bit of a preview for season 2 and while this is pointless in retrospective, it's okay as an appetizer if you have not seen the second season yet. But why would people buy the DVD if they haven't seen (i.e. haven't liked) season 2 yet? It does not really make any sense to include these scenes. Anway, overall it's an extremely forgettable behind the scenes feature which is luckily not that long because it has some really bad moments, mostly these involving the two lead actors. I don't recommend checking it out.
