Beautifully shot and one of the best penultimate episode for a series

Beautifully shot episode. This series is possibly the most visually stunning CW show ever. Everyone's back story was done so well. Philemon's narration was done so well. His voice was soothing and added an extra layer of warmth and familiarity that made the backstories even more engaging. Jared's cameo was such a delight. While it was so brief I loved every second of it and it was hilarious.

Also the transitions in this episode were sublime. We got to know more about everyone. The plot twist with Tom made his relationship with Abby even better and more complex.

The best episode of the series so far.

Amazing!

Really loved this episode. Getting to see every character's backstory and how they got to be in Independence was really cleverly done. I am really emotionally invested in everyone and want everyone to achieve their dreams.

Jared Padalecki's cameo was so fun, love the stand off between him and Hoyt! Would have liked that scene to be a bit longer just cause I was enjoying it so much.

This episode was a masterpiece, truly spectacular from the beautiful cinematography to the wonderful performances by each and every actor!

And the end left me so full of emotions I am very worried about what will happen and really want Gus to be okay cause I love him!!

Rare Gem
Sarah42324 February 2023
This show overall is a rare gem for network television. From the start--and in spite of the economy--the writers took time to lay a foundation with these characters.

And characters are what make shows great.

I won't spoil the episode, but it was honestly a breathtaking, emotional bit of storytelling--yes, tied into the overall arc of season one, but well able to stand by itself as the best "selling point" for anyone wanting to enter the show.

Do I love these characters? Yes, now more than ever.

Do I respect the actors and crew behind them? So much.

Hoping that if the network incorrectly chooses to cancel the series, it will find some place else. And if somehow it doesn't, I'd follow these actors anywhere. They are tops.
