Love This Episode the acting, the writing and the story
After the ugliness of UBA's history was revealed, Cory wanted to focus on doing the news, not being the news. On The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 1, being the news was a priority, as they had a media blitz surrounding sending someone into orbit on an untested manned rocket. However, the episode "White Noise" was different, as UBA's data was breached and the studio was held hostage. Revelations began circulating among staff, eventually reaching outside UBA. The episode of The Morning Show featured accusations that decisions were made based on race, with the results being unfavorable. Cybil Richards, UBA's board chairman, made the harshest commentary. Rival network Eagle News shared the atrocious behavior exhibited at UBA with disregard for those UBA had slighted, putting them above UBA. Cory Ellison, who had uncovered the board's opinion on a potential takeover by Paul Marks, dismissed the board's opinion and set everything into motion to achieve his desired results. Ellison even called Chris up to his office for the first time, in contrast to the consideration former newbie Bradley Jackson received upon her arrival at The Morning Show. The world we live in now is filled with insidious ugliness pervading news from all directions. Cybil, a former anchor, frequently dated Cory, leading to his love for her. Chris, a charismatic anchor, had minimal interaction with Cory, suggesting inherent bias. Cybil's actions, uncovered in The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 3, suggest she needs to disentangle herself from her father's legacy before destroying it. This happened at a worse time for Cybil, as her father may have founded the network. Time may heal wounds, but people change with them. Alex Levy, who confided in her concerns about Cory's potential partnership with Paul Marks, was forced to work on TMS five days a week by Cybil, who scolded her for insubordination. This story highlights Cybil's history of using her position to achieve her own goals, disregarding those who continue to bring her father's dream to life. She turned to Alex to help paint Cybil in a better light, but Alex called her out on the incident and brought Chris, who was the most affected, in to clear the record. The Morning Show's portrayal of Cybil's offensive behavior is a powerful story that highlights the pain and damage caused by the transition from the old guard to the new. Holland Taylor and Nicole Beharie effectively portray Cybil's anxiety and the journey of Mitch Kessler's misogyny. The show has only two seasons under its belt, but it has tackled instances like this with a keen awareness for everyone involved. The new layer of trouble at UBA is primarily women who are taking the brunt of the bad behavior. Mia and Stella were left to bring the team back together, but they had their own doubts about how UBA brass felt about them. Jon Hamm isn't going anywhere, so the story isn't over. A white savior story may be on the horizon if Paul comes to UBA's rescue with a financial infusion. The new blood could be good for UBA, but Stella's history and warning to the contrary may lead to Marks infusing the team with a host of mistakes, just like some other billionaires. The Morning Show's portrayal of this situation is a testament to the power of change and the challenges faced by individuals in overcoming adversity.
