Chicago Fire is ready to introduce its newest firefighter.
The exit of actor Alberto Rosende (Blake Gallo) necessitated adding someone new to the cast.
And in a season of change for the hit NBC drama, this is the first of many new faces to appear soon.
Paramedic in Charge Sylvie Brett (played by Kara Killmer) will also leave Firehouse 51.
In the Season 12 premiere episode, she alluded to leaving Chicago in about a month and a half.
Brett is moving to Portland after she gets married to Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer).
Who is the new firefighter on Chicago Fire?
Actor Rome Flynn will first appear in Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 2.
Rome’s character is Derrick Gibson, and he gets a chance to prove himself during the January 24 episode.
Joining Firehouse 51 is no easy task, as this group has been together for years. But once someone is in, they are considered family.

While Chinonye Chukwu was filming “Till” — which tells the story of Mamie Till-Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice following the lynching of her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till — she spotted someone she didn’t recognize visiting with the film’s producer and star Whoopi Goldberg on the Atlanta set. “I see this tall man. I was like, ‘Who is this?’” Chukwu recalls. The mysterious visitor was Tyler Perry.
“I came in to support,” Perry explains as the two filmmakers sit down. “I just wanted to let you and Whoopi and everybody else know that anything I could do, I was there 100. Atlanta’s a little bit of my town.”
The “Till” production office had been set up at Tyler Perry Studios, which was “glorious,” Chukwu says before asking the million-dollar question: “I look at you and the legacy that you built for yourself, and I look at the studio, at you as a filmmaker,...

Echoes of Emmett Till’s murder in Jim Crow Mississippi in 1955 grew increasingly harder to ignore when 17-year-old Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman was acquitted back in 2013. Since then, Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, has channeled her grief and disappointment into fighting social injustice. It’s a role Emmett’s mother Mamie Till Mobley also played until her death at age 81 in 2003. “Till,” premiering at the New York Film Festival, tells the story of how she got there.
While the ABC limited series “Women of the Movement” — starring Tony winner Adrienne Warren as Mamie Till Mobley — recently covered some of this ground, “Till” places unparalleled focus on Emmett’s mother. In the process, we learn so much about him, prompting us to feel his loss even more intensely.

Power Book IV: Force has a premiere date.
Starz on Thursday announced the highly anticipated fourth series in the Power universe will receive its premiere on February 6.

“We have waited a very long time to bring this historically necessary important film to people,” Goldberg said. “And as we watch the repression of American History when it comes to people of color it makes it even that more important.
