Nica's talent
This simple drama is wonderfully written and performed by Nica Noelle and her talented cast, attesting to her commitment to making real movies, not just XXX "scenes".
Part of her secret is to create empathetic characters, like Kiki D'Aire, a fine actress usually stuck in gonzo or mere Extra assignments, cast as Laura, a fan turned fiancee to novelist Richard Quarry (played by Marcus London), as we watch her cooking dinner and stopping to kiss one of his books ("East of Utopia", "The History of Nonsense").
Danny Wylde is his son Danny, coming home to Massachusetts for Easter vacation with his lovely girlfriend Marilyn (played by Molly Bennett) in tow.
Instant attractions develop along older/younger lines, and as usual Nica leaves her story with an open ending. Diana Prince brings her regal presence to a flashback presented as an erotic dream, as neighbor lady Bianca who Danny sleeps with before his college days.
Even with strong themes like infidelity and an examination of Laura's unwise subservient attitude included, it is auteur Nica's affection for her characters that shines through. Along with her emphasis on a naturalistic presentation of sex rather than posing for the camera.
