The BAFTA TV Awards took place this sunny Sunday afternoon as the British equivalent of the Emmys awarded the best of the year’s TV on the other side of the Atlantic. The ceremony was hosted by Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, who both hosted last year, while the event takes place at the Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank. Scroll down for the full list of winners.
Netflix’s “The Crown” leads the way with eight nominations. Another Netflix show, “Demon 79 (Black Mirror),” came in second with seven nominations while BBC’s “Happy Valley,” Apple TV’s “Slow Horses,” and BBC’s “The Sixth Commandment” all snagged six bids apiece.

It was a night of surprises at the BAFTA TV Awards, with “The Crown” and “Black Mirror” failing to pick up any awards while “Succession” walked away with only one for Matthew Macfadyen for best supporting actor.
Macfadyen did not attend the awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall, prompting Helena Bonham Carter, who presented the category, to walk off with the iconic gold BAFTA mask with the promise she would get it to Macfadyen.
The international category also saw upset, with frontrunners “Succession,” “Beef” and “The Bear” all failing to win the award. They were instead beaten by little-known French series “Class Act.” It was a fact acknowledged by the show’s shocked lead actor Laurent Lafitte, who, upon accepting the award, told the audience: “Please watch our show. It’s called ‘Class Act,’ it’s quite good — not just because I’m starring in it.”

“The Crown” could well bow out in style on home soil, with the final outing of the show leading the list of nominees for the 2024 BAFTA TV and TV Craft awards, announced Wednesday.
Netflix’s hit royal drama — which came to an end last year after six seasons — landed eight nominations in total, including for Dominic West, Elizabeth Debecki, Lesley Manville and Salim Daw in the performance categories. However, it missed out for drama series (an award it has been nominated for three times previously).
Just behind “The Crown” and also a Netflix production, the apocalyptic “Black Mirror” episode “Demon 79” earned seven nominations, including limited drama and leading actress for Anjana Vasan.
Further down in a tight group of frontrunners, BBC dramas “Happy Valley” and “The Sixth Commandment and Apple TV+’s “Slow Horses” each have six nominations. Sarah Lancashire’s leading actress nomination for “Happy Valley” could see...

Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham are to co-star in an as-yet untitled comedy series for Amazon Prime Video. Here are the details:
It’s been a huge year for West End star Hannah Waddingham.
Award-winning feel good comedy drama Ted Lasso, in which she starred alongside Jason Sudeikis, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brenda’s Hunt and Phil Dunster, came to an end earlier this year after a hugely successful three season run.
Waddingham can also currently be seen in her Christmas special Hannah Waddingham: Home For Christmas on Apple TV, which sees her put on a concert at the London Coliseum.
An unashamed throwback to variety specials of yesteryear, Waddingham is joined by a variety of guests including several of her Ted Lasso co-stars, Leslie Odom Jr., Luke Evans, Sam Ryder and many more.

One might think TV would take a break during the week of Thanksgiving, but they’d be wrong. The fifth installment of Noah Hawley’s “Fargo” premiered this week on FX. A return to form for the Emmy-winning anthology series, the darkly funny new season is set in 2019 and stars Emmy nominee Juno Temple as Dot Lyon, a Midwestern housewife and mother whose past begins to catch up with her after she’s arrested at a school board meeting for accidentally tasering a cop.
As has become the norm, this season of “Fargo” is ridiculously stacked with talent. Emmy winner Jon Hamm, who is coming off the third season of “The Morning Show,” portrays Roy Tillman, a larger-than-life North Dakota sheriff looking for Dot with the help of his son Gator, portrayed by “Stranger Things” fan favorite Joe Keery. Meanwhile, Jennifer Jason Leigh more than holds her own as Dot’s wealthy and disapproving mother-in-law,...

Now, she is bringing those talents to the screen in “Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas,” which will stream on Apple TV+ starting on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Don’t miss her performing alongside Tony-winner Leslie Odom, Jr., Luke Evans, Sam Ryder, “Ted Lasso” costar Phil Dunster, and more. Hannah Waddingham is a big star on London’s West End stage, but non-theater fans mostly know her as Rebecca from Ted Lasso. The Ted Lasso Christmas episode (plus some other karaoke moments) showed off her vocal chops, but the Emmy-winner shows audiences just how splendid her voice really is in her Apple TV+ holiday special, Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, debuting on Wednesday, November 22 on the streamer. The musical special clocks in at just under one hour, but viewers will feel like it’s much longer and fulfilling thanks to Waddingham’s song selections and well-timed comedic breaks. She has a holiday song from practically every genre of music, performed with the help of a rousing band, a lovely cast of dancers, the London Gay Men’s Chorus, and two of her best friends, Scott Baker and Patrick Davey of The Fabulous Lounge Swingers. Waddingham’s Ted Lasso ...
