A Compelling Social Movement to Embrace for Societal Betterment
b4babar18 February 2024
"Taxali Gate" has finally arrived, and it's the movie I've been eagerly anticipating for quite some time. Let me begin by expressing that after a significant time gap, I experienced goosebumps watching a Lollywood film, the last being "Maula Jutt."

This crime thriller delves into the lives of the underprivileged inhabitants of the Taxali Gate neighborhood. Throughout its runtime, the film maintains a tight grip on its audience. Unlike the typical modern-age "Anarkali," it delivers a resounding rebuke to societal and systemic corruption, portraying the harsh realities with brutal honesty that transcends gender barriers.

Yasir Hussain's portrayal of Shafiq is nothing short of magnificent, with his natural and effortless demeanor, accent, and humorous quips adding depth to the character.

Ayesha Omar shines as Muskan, delivering the performance of her career with boldness and authenticity, particularly notable in her introduction and courtroom scenes.

Special mention must be made of Nayyar Ijaz's transformation from a jubilant wedding dancer to a shattered father, showcasing his exceptional talent.

Mehar Bano's portrayal of Zainab, transitioning from carefree to victimized, is executed with impeccable viciousness.

Iffat Omar's portrayal as a lawyer is flawless, while Umer Aalam and Babar Ali deliver commendable performances.

The cinematography stands out as one of the best in Pakistani cinema, complemented by a crisp and engaging screenplay.

This movie caters to audiences appreciative of serious cinema and stellar performances. However, the slightly lower turnout at the evening screening highlights the challenges faced by Lollywood, overshadowed by cringy caryryonjatta or other Internationally failed crap.

"Taxali Gate" exceeds expectations, offering powerful performances that elevate it to the ranks of fine Lollywood cinema. The only drawback lies in the censorship of some impactful dialogues, though subtitles partially compensate for this loss.

In conclusion, "Taxali Gate" is a must-watch for cinema enthusiasts, promising an unforgettable experience. Ayesha Omar fans, in particular, are in for a treat.

Tatti Movie 3/10
aamirbilal24 February 2024
Cheaper cameras and lenses from neighboring China surely has improved the visual fidelity of Pakistani movies in the recent times. Sadly, the self-proclaimed directors who also claim to be writers end up making good looking but soulless films that end suddenly. Fine cast with veteran names fails to make the film shine. Just poor. Only 3 points and they too are because of Nayyar Ijaz. These rave reviews on the media are only to lure you out. Because marketing.

The film moves to and fro between days. Most of the story is linear. Still it moves back and forth. There are just loud moments where the story gets buried under loud music which is distracting instead of making a good impact on the movie. The language is intense which goes along the theme, but the actor Yasir Hussain needs as much effort into acting as much he has connections in the media. Ragged jeans, messy shirt and uncombed hair don't make one a great director. Good work does. You will forget the story once you step out of the cinema hall where only the last seats had less than ten people. I wish IMDb allowed me to attach photos along the review to show. Avoid the film. Better luck next time Mr Director, Writer, Philosopher, and so much more.

A Mixed Bag of Performances and Flaws
talhahabib-1316328 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
"Taxali Gate" offers a blend of commendable acting and a compelling storyline, but unfortunately, it falls short in various aspects that significantly impact the overall viewing experience.

The acting in the movie deserves appreciation, with actors delivering their lines convincingly and showcasing their talent. The story, too, has its merits, providing an engaging narrative that captivates the audience's attention. However, despite these positives, the film is marred by several flaws that cannot be overlooked.

One of the major issues lies in the portrayal of the court scenes, which deviate from reality. The unrealistic depiction of legal proceedings may leave viewers questioning the authenticity of the movie's setting. This lack of consistency becomes a recurring problem throughout the film, making it difficult for the audience to fully immerse themselves in the storyline.

The fight scenes, unfortunately, fall short of coherence and fail to contribute meaningfully to the plot. The inclusion of scenes that don't make sense adds to the overall inconsistency of the movie. Moreover, the dialogue quality is subpar, with low-level content that fails to leave a lasting impact. Although line delivery is commendable, the weak dialogues prevent the film from reaching its full potential.

One of the film's glaring issues is the abundance of errors, such as the contradiction regarding visibility inside a house. Inconsistencies like this disrupt the viewer's suspension of disbelief and detract from the overall viewing experience. The scene involving the attempt to lock the gate, with the actor struggling and resorting to a padlock, comes off as poorly executed and time-consuming without adding substantial value to the narrative.

Given these shortcomings, "Taxali Gate" might have been better suited as a telefilm, where the constraints of a shorter format could have minimized the impact of these flaws. Despite the commendable elements, the movie ultimately falls short of delivering a cohesive and polished cinematic experience.

A Cinematic experience beyond expectations
saifqidwai23 February 2024
Yesterday, I watched a this movie. It was beyond the expectations, a cinematic experience that hold you from start to finish. It's not a commercial movie. Every character's performance is remarkably natural to a compelling storyline. The picturesque elevates the film above industry standards, showcasing the authenticity of the local area.

While the language used may seem like a hindrance, it could be to reflect the true essence of that area. Therefore it is advisable to avoid watching this film with young children.

I feel that this movie deserves recognition on a global scale, perhaps even at the Oscars. Its quality rivals that of international productions, demonstrating the talent and creativity present in Pakistani cinema.

However, it's disheartening to note the lack of audience turnout during screenings while I was watching in Mississauga. Despite the film's brilliance, many Pakistanis seem more inclined to support foreign productions over their own. This disparity highlights the need for greater support of our Pakistani productions and serves as a call to action for audiences to embrace and celebrate their own cultural.

In conclusion, "Texali Gate" is a cinematic gem that deserves widespread acclaim. I urge all Pakistanis to experience this masterpiece.

A Must watch!!
haxnainkhan-831413 April 2024
Very direct, no drag, beautifully captured the true essence of the ground reality. Very good performances from everyone.... Whoever is complaining, should watch cartoon network. 😆 If you are a Pakistani or Indian, you will definitely enjoy it.

Lahori touch of jokes are very amusing......... The only thing bad was a censor board. They have cut the dialogues which is almost like ruining a great work. Don't watch it with your family if they are conservative.

Ayesha umer's performance was more than I expected and Yasir was above all. I think one of the top movies made in Pakistan for every kind of audience.

Taxali Gate: Unveiling the Dark Truths of Society
salmanahmad-8601722 February 2024
"Taxali Gate" ventures into the gritty underbelly of society with a compelling and authentic narrative that unveils the dark truths often overlooked. Through its raw portrayal, the film sheds light on the harsh realities faced by the lower class, exposing the injustices and prejudices they endure. With a captivating storyline rooted in reality, "Taxali Gate" grips audiences with its unapologetic exploration of societal decay and the exploitation of the marginalized. It bravely confronts the audience with the ugly face of society, leaving a profound impact long after the credits roll. This film stands as a testament to the power of cinema in shining a light on the neglected corners of humanity.

Fresh air in a dead film industry
pointed-out27 February 2024
Pakistani cinema, dead since long, has finally got some fresh air. Fed with same old lame love stories, Taxali Gare reflects the way people from once epicenter of art in the city now synonymous to red light district for some is treated. The movie sheds light on the discrimination people of Heera Mandi have to face on daily basis. The storyline is different than what traditional Pakistani cinema is used to depict.

Abu Aleeha has one again proven once the wonder he can do with heavy cast. Movie has profound dialogues, strong cast and an unorthodox story line. Cinematography is unusual compared to what Pakistani cinema offers.

Overall an epic we've come through in Pakistani cinema since long.

The outclass movie "TAXALI GATE"
saadmaqsood-0345329 February 2024
I saw one of the best scripted movie *the taxali gate* which gave us a great message regarding the women's. If one girl says *no* then it means no one can have a right to touch her.

I highly admire the leading roles of "Ayesha Omer", "Yasir Hussain" and "Mehar bano". They played superb and amazing roles in this whole movie.

Movie is based on that girl which is innocent and loves her own life. But, when she trust on one man then that men will hurt her image and sole too.

No mercy to any culprit.

I highly recommend you guys to check out this outclass film you will like it too

Thanks!

Saad.
