It’s been almost exactly one year since Columbia Pictures / Screen Gems brought The Pope’s Exorcist (read our review Here), a supernatural thriller starring Russell Crowe, to theatres. Just two weeks after the film was released, our friends at Bloody Disgusting heard that a sequel was in development… but everything has been quiet since then. During a recent interview with The Six O’Clock Show, Crowe confirmed that a sequel is in development – and that The Pope’s Exorcist was actually meant to be chapter one in a trilogy!
As it turns out, things have been quiet on the Pope’s Exorcist front because there was a behind-the-scenes shake-up with the studio executives, but it sounds like Crowe still has hopes that the trilogy is going to happen. He told The Six O’Clock Show (with thanks to MovieWeb for the transcription), “(A sequel) is in discussion at the moment. The...

After making the little-seen 2009 thriller Absence, the filmmaking duo of Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer went on to make the impressive 2014 horror film Starry Eyes, which led to them getting the chance to direct the 2019 remake of Pet Sematary. That movie didn’t become as popular as the original film, but it did earn over $100 million at the box office. Five years later, Kölsch and Widmyer have finally set up their next feature: the survival thriller The Swallow, which is set to star Grace Van Dien, who had a memorable role in season 4 of Stranger Things.
Kölsch and Widmyer wrote the screenplay for The Swallow, which was previously featured on the Bloodlist, a list assembled through a survey of industry professionals, who recommend their favorite unproduced thriller and horror scripts. Released last fall, Lucky McKee’s “chamber thriller” Old Man had nothing to do with the Don’t Breathe films, despite starring Stephen Lang – who played the “Blind Man” in both Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2. But that didn’t stop the movie’s Russian distributor from marketing it as a prequel to those films! During an interview with Jb Hi-Fi, McKee laughed about the fact that his movie is part of the Don’t Breathe franchise, as far as Russia is concerned.
McKee said, “In Russia, they released it as Don’t Breathe: The Beginning. Kind of like the Italians used to do back in the day, with movies like Zombi 2.“
Sure enough, if you search the title Don’t Breathe: The Beginning, you’ll find confirmation that Old Man is a Don’t Breathe prequel in Russia.

Viewers may recognize Ralph Ineson from his on screen roles in such films and TV shows as The Witch, Willow, Chernobyl, and Game of Thrones, among others – and if you’ve seen Ineson in action, you’ve probably also noticed that he has an awesome voice, which is why several credits on his résumé are voiceover roles. So it’s not surprising to hear (from our friends at Bloody Disgusting) that Ineson has been hired to provide the voice of a demon for the supernatural thriller The Pope’s Exorcist, starring Russell Crowe.

Stephen Lang – who played the “Blind Man” in Don’t Breathe (watch it Here) and its sequel – stars in genre filmmaker Lucky McKee’s “chamber thriller” Old Man, and a couple weeks ago we learned that Rlje Films has picked up the Old Man distribution rights and plans to give the film a theatrical, VOD, and digital release on October 14th. With the release date just a month away, a trailer for Old Man has now arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above.
Scripted by Joel Veach, who also wrote the story as a play that was workshopped at the Actor’s Studio in New York, Old Man follows
a lost hiker who stumbles upon the cabin of an erratic and reclusive Old Man. What starts off as cordial conversation soon turns dangerous as it becomes clear that one or both of them might be hiding a terrifying secret.

Almost two years have gone by since we first heard that Stephen Lang – who played the “Blind Man” in Don’t Breathe (watch it Here) and its sequel – would be starring in genre filmmaker Lucky McKee’s “chamber thriller” Old Man, not to be confused with the Jeff Bridges TV series The Old Man. It’s not uncommon to find many animated series in U.S pop culture that focuses on Greek and Roman mythology, like “Blood of Zeus” or “Hercules.” However, there are a few animated series whose creators choose to tell distinct stories like “DC’s Titans,” “Teen Titans Go,” “Gravity Falls,” and of course “Victor and Valentino.”
According to show creator Diego Molano, “Victor and Valentino” is a supernatural adventure comedy that seeks to put a spotlight on the mythologies of the Aztec, Olmec, and Mayan people — Latin-Americans generally.
The show is currently on its third season. In this article, we’ll tell you all that there is to know about the latest season of “Victor and Valentino” and a little about its characters.

When Roky Erickson’s 1981 cult classic album The Evil One was rereleased in 1987, it opened with the skronky “Two-Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer),” a song loosely inspired by the believe-it-or-not head-transplant experiments conducted by a Soviet surgeon in the Fifties. Over a snaking electric guitar lead, Erickson howled about “working in the Kremlin with a two-headed dog.”

The woman who discovers it is not going to be easy to leave the house is Michelle. Played by Alex Essoe, who horror fans will recognise from Tales of Halloween and her incredible performance in Starry Eyes. She will soon be even more popular when she stars as Wendy Torrance in Mike Flanagan’s The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep later this year. It may come as a surprise that a movie about two women meeting at a yoga class, which then escalates to one of them refusing to let the other leave their house, is actually very very relatable for myself. But that is exactly how I found myself when watching Homewrecker.
Her captor is Linda, played by the interestingly named Precious Chong. Michelle gets into the situation just because she is unable to say no.

Stars: Phil Brooks, Trieste Kelly Dunn, Sarah Brooks, Travis Delgado, Elissa Dowling, Karen Woditsch, Marshall Bean, Anish Jethmalani, Bishop Stevens | Written and Directed by Travis Stevens
Travis Stevens, producer of films such as A Horrible Way to Die, The Aggression Scale, Starry Eyes and We Are Still Here (all fanatasic genre films may I add), turns his hand to directing with a haunted house film that, ultimately, feels like a lesser entry in the Amityville franchise.
In a surprising move, former wrestler-turned-mma fighter Phil Brooks takes the lead as a man tipped over the edge while renovating his new family home. However bursting pipes, rotting walls and unidentifiable slime were not what Don Koch (Brooks) expected when he convinced his pregnant wife he could renovate their new Victorian home himself. In over his head, under duress, and tempted by his old weaknesses – especially from a mysteriously seductive neighbour – Don soon...

Dare to go back when director Mike Flanagan continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in “The Shining” with “Doctor Sleep,” a screenplay based on the novel by Stephen King. To mark the release on 9th March, we’ve been given 2 copies to give away on Blu-ray.
Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.” Instinctively recognizing that Dan shares her power, Abra has sought him out, desperate for his help against the merciless Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and her followers, The True Knot, who feed off the shine of innocents in their quest for immortality.
