In the opening sequence during the quick pan of Springfield, both Mrs. Krabappel and writer Don Payne are depicted as angels in tribute to Payne as well as Krabappel's voice actress Marcia Wallace who passed away.
In the scene when the townsfolk are deciding to welcome tourists so they can price gouge them, as Moe starts to talk, there is also a Moe in the crowd so it relevant that Moe is gouging his own prices.
The title is a reference to the Christmas song "White Christmas".
