Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • The main perspective of the game is to "push-back" an army of creatures born by 'darkness' so humans are free to spread the earth and surrounding planets again, you do this by exploring ancient ruins, shooting enemies, collecting data to use against enemies. The creatures are known as the Hive, fallen, vex and cabal who want to spread darkness to the universe. You can pick three characters who have different powers.
  • Hunter: A Guardian who owns a knife. When you stab there is no blood, gore or even a penetration wound. Has a 'golden gun' that disintegrates enemies.
  • Titan: Super strong and his power is to punch aliens away, create a protection bubble or smash his fist into the ground making an electric shock-wave.
  • Warlock: Warlocks can shoot a purple void bomb from their hands and uses a form of force push as a melee attack.
  • The game contains no gore or blood and is not designed to give a realistic killing feeling. When you shoot something numbers appear to tell you the damage you caused on the enemy, most of the enemies disappear when killed creating a unrealistic and fantastic feel to the game. Nothing like the realistic and much more violent game-mechanics games like COD and Battlefield are renowned for.
  • The bullets you shoot seem to be actually a form of concentrated 'light' rather than the metal bullets known today. Hive enemies' armour falls to the ground and their bodies disappear into a dark fog when they are killed.
  • Every mission involves the player shooting something. This is all done in first person. The game is a shooter. The violence is intense. Constant loud gunfire can always be heard. Multiplayer is even more intense since most players are really tough and have vicious weapons. Overall the game is probably more appropriate for 14 and up.
  • If you get a head shot the enemies head will fly off and depending on what alien it is, blood will squirt out and lay in a pool until it disappears.

Profanity

  • Zavala says "hell" a couple times in the campaign, but other than that, there is none.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some battles are full of enemies running towards you which can be intense and will require fast-thinking to survive. Some jump-scares.
  • If you get a head shot the enemies head will fly off and depending on what alien it is, blood will squirt out and lay in a pool until it disappears.
  • Some enemies called Thralls are scary-looking and charge at you. Other thralls are sometimes cursed and look like they have a straight jacket on and they shuffle towards you like a zombie.
