A view of the ABPC studio in 1951
malcolmgsw16 February 2015
This is a documentary about the ABPC studios in Elstree. At the time of the making of this film they employed a workforce of 600.The principal narrator is Richard Todd and features 40 of the films made at the studio. It is not a linear history. It instead introduces us to various members of staff who were employed at the time.So we hear from an editor,a cameraman,a casting director and so on.Unfortunately in most cases we are not told who is speaking. So this film is a snapshot of a particular moment in time of the studio's history timed to coincide with its 25th anniversary. On the DVD there is also an interesting 22 minute extra where Paul Walsh who helped save the studios brings the story up to date.
