The cop they were partnering with did not come off like a cop or military at all. He felt like someone who should be modeling Sonoma sweaters in a Kohl's ad or something.
Not a bad episode, but I also have to object to the casting of Dean Norris at Stabler's brother. I guess he looks similar to bald and bearded Elliot, but not really much like how we are accustomed to seeing him. I don't think more family drama is what this show really needed and instead they should focus on telling good stories, but that seems out the window.
This is still the best of the Law and Orders, but not off to a great start.
