Great acting Some plot holes

Warning: Spoilers
The acting.was very good. The father, the teachers and the students. . For that alone it was worth the movie.

But there were plot holes galore
  • The school board did not understand anything on how to sell something radically different to people.. And they did not understand their community. The principal did the same thing at first with announcing the new program.

-Show me the data should have been the counter. Get the school board's data and pick it apart.. Was this tried?

-The coolest teacher having found Jesus would had been an inspiration in the right movie. Here it seemed thrown in just to say the nice prayer.

-it was clear why the vice principal was not promoted. That they betrayed the principal twice and is smiling with everyone else in the end was a head scratcher. His motivation was not explained.

  • With the correct plot, it could have been a great series.

  • The School board is against it allegedly the whole time and the votes passes in the end.

-The two problem characters have their issues cleanly resolved at the end.

  • At the end the students are sitting at different tables. It just happened. It is never explain.

Excellent!

This is a clean, feel-good movie about high school teachers who care about their students, and about students developing their abilities and forging friendships. The acting is good, too. Something I found interesting, and really liked, is that there's no single main character. It's similar to those TV shows that follow the simultaneous plot lines of many characters, but it's not confusing.

It's great that this movie acknowledges God, and has a character pray in the name of Jesus. Society needs more of that.

RAISE YOUR VOICE

Warning: Spoilers
This is a made for TV film called "Teachers." Manny Cortez (Esai Morales) worked long shifts so he could move his family into a shoe box located in the Westbrook High district. His dream is for his daughter to attend Westbrook, the best high school in the state of North Carolina. To everyone's dismay, the school is going to shutdown next year to save money. Dr. Christine (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) a former student of Westbrook is brought in to be the interim principal, change teachers' methods, and make a lay-off list. The teachers, parents, students rally etc. etc.

This is a formula film. The teachers are the best because they are involved in the personal lives of their students and do one on one mentoring. They are dedicated to their students and community and get respect. Oh the school did have a fight.

This is a feel good film that has the right messages. It does bring in "God" about 50 minutes into the film and there is one mention of Jesus at 58 minutes. Not heavily religious.

Good film for the tweens, a simple feel good drama.
