Crimes of the Century: The Oklahoma City Bombing (2013)
One woman, bloodied and leaving the Oklahoma City building, told the media that she just hoped it wasn't an American who was behind the deadly attack but as we now know, it was an American. Not just an American but a former military man who simply grew disgusted with the government and caused the biggest disaster on American soil by an American. This documentary once again doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know but you have to give CNN, the director and producers a lot of credit because they took a familiar subject and managed to make it tense, heartfelt and it really gave the viewer a terrific look back at that horrid day and the aftermath. I thought the best part of the film were the elements dealing with how Timothy McVeigh got this plan together, how it was hatched and then the aftermath including the lucky way he was arrested as well as his attitude after being sentenced to death. The documentary interviews many of the first responders as well as some of the people who were actually in the building. History buffs are certainly going to be entertained and if someone was too young to remember the events then this is a good way to introduce them to what happened.
8/10
