- While Oliver tends to the Canary's wounds, he tries to get her to talk about where she came from but she refuses. However, after Oliver and Canary are attacked at the Queen mansion by a trained killer from the League of Assassins, she confesses to how she's connected with the nefarious group. Meanwhile with Moira facing multiple counts of murder and conspiracy for her part in the destruction of The Glades, the Assistant District Attorney offers her a choice - plead guilty now and avoid the death penalty or take your chances in court. Thea begs her mother to fight for her life but Moira seems resolute about taking the offer. Meanwhile, Oliver is furious with Laurel for joining the prosecution's team on his mother's case.—salman ali
- Flashbacks reveal how Sara survived the sinking of the Queen family yacht 6 years ago and what happened after she was rescued. She fends off Oliver's questions about her past but after they are attacked by a member of the league of assassins she opens up. The killer was after her, not Oliver, and admits that after she was rescued, she too was trained and became a member of the league. They join forces to track down the assassin. Meanwhile, Oliver learns that Laurel will be second chair for his mother's upcoming trial. Moira is offered a way to avoid the death penalty - plead guilty and get life imprisonment. She's inclined to accept but her children beg her to reconsider.—garykmcd
- Open six years earlier on the Gambit. Sara has been lying to Lance about still being at college. The ship breaks apart in the storm and she and Queen end up in the water. We see this was Sara having a dream. She was crashing at Queen's place and walks downstairs to thank him for letting her crash. He continues to try and talk her into telling her family she's back.
Queen goes to a meeting where Moira is told that Laurel will be sitting second chair for the prosecution. They offer her life without parole and Moira's lawyer turns it down. The prosecutor's seem confident they'll be able to find something that hurts her defense of being under duress. Moira wants to think about the offer for a few days.
Outside the prison Queen is furious with Laurel for accepting a spot on the prosecutor's team. He asks if she's okay but she doesn't want to talk about it.
We see that after the wreck Sara ended up on a piece of the ship that is able to keep her afloat. She looks up and sees a ship.
Sara tells Queen that she's done terrible things and doesn't think she'll be forgiven. A masked man dressed like Malcolm jumps through the window and engages both Sara and Queen in a fight. He loses but is able to escape before answering any questions.
Queen brings Sara to his Arrow bunker. He introduces her to Digs and Felicity. Queen tells them about the visitor and gives Felicity some of the dirt the man tracked into his home. Sara tells Queen the man was after her. He's Al-Owal, a member of the League of Assassins, an ancient sect of warriors. It was with them that Sara learned to fight. She swore them her allegiance but left, and that is not allowed. After murdering a diplomat whose children discovered his body, she decided she was done.
We flashback again to Sara being taken aboard the freighter and thrown in a cell.
Queen arrives at the prison. Against the advice of her counsel and the wishes of Thea, Moira is considering taking the deal. After Thea leaves Moira tells Queen that she's made up her mind.
Felicity tracks Al-Owal to an abandoned plant. Queen wants to pay him a visit.
Arrow and Sara go to see Al-Owal. He is not concerned with going up against Arrow and tells Sara that his orders are to return her to the Assassins. A fight ensues with Al-Owal and his two fellow Assassins. Arrow and Sara are forced to retreat. Al-Owal warns that if Sara doesn't come with him he'll kill her family.
Back at HQ Queen patches up Sara. Queen will protect Laurel while Felicity's job is to convince Lance to leave town for a few days.
Back on he freighter Sara is saved by a man who we learn employs the ship's captain.
Felicity gives Lance a sense of what is happening with the Assassins and asks him to leave town. He refuses to listen.
Queen drops by Laurel's office and offers to take for a meal. He assures her it's not related to Moira's case.
Felicity gives Sara and Digs the bad news about Lance. Sara says she needs to tell Lance to save his life and won't let Digs help her.
Sara goes to see Lance. They embrace. At a nearby restaurant they talk about the divorce. She tells him he's in trouble and he realizes she knows the Arrow and has been in the Glades for weeks. She admits she'd have never let him know she was alive if not for the assassins. He agrees to come with her.
The man who took Sara from the sailors is Dr. Anthony Ivo. Ivo tells her the people in the cells are his "work." He says "I'm going to save the human race, Sara. Maybe you can help me."
Laurel asks Queen why everybody always seems to leave her. He promises never to do that, but she isn't convinced. They find the door to Laurel's apartment has been open. Inside Queen finds a knife stuck into the wall. He removes it before Laurel sees it.
At Sara's lair she tells Lance she never forgot his voice. Al-Owal shows up with his two sidekicks and says "So this is where you wanted your father to die?" With help from Arrow the good guys end up winning the battle. Sara kills Al-Owal, Lance shoots another assassin and Sara lets the third live so he can tell Ra's al Ghul her family is "off limits." Sara assumes Lance won't accept her now that he's seen her kill, but the opposite is true. Sara is going to leave town. Sara tells Lance he can't tell her mother or Laurel that she's alive. If he did they would keep looking for her and that could get her killed. Arrow emphasizes to Lance that he must keep Sara's secret.
Queen and Thea go to see Moira. They tell her that no matter what comes out in the trial they won't love her any less. They want her to fight. It works.
A weepy Laurel tells Lance she's worried that things won't get better for her. He promises that it will and says he wishes he could tell her how he knows.
Queen tells Digs that Sara left. He opens a bottle he's been saving and the two have a drink. Queen admits that Digs was right about his past always catching up with him. He says he's not sure he wants to try hard to keep his past behind him anymore. He then tells Digs he wasn't always on the island during the years he was gone.
Back on the ship we see Queen look up at Sara. He starts to ask how she's alive and she kicks him in the face, adding "prisoners don't speak.
