As the summer ends, Walter and Carrie must vacate Larissa's Manhattan apartment, moving to college and jobs. Bennet insists Walter is free to accept a dating request from studly colleague Blake, but quickly turns jealous. Sebastian is seduced onto bed but caught by Maggie, who he implores not to tell his true love Carrie. Tom and his daughters must deal with his lover's nosy son Dylan's nasty sides, Tom also with the law firm's tendency to take over one's life. Carrie gets a shot at being published if she can interest charming recluse playwright Adam Weaver, but decides to put his privacy first.
