I have not quite gone through the whole series yet but this first episode is quite a gem. While most documentaries shed light on things that 99% of people have no idea about, it seems like this one is focused more trying to think empirically about the idea that women and men's brains are identical. In this sense this documentary is less about enlightening people about something new but more about dispelling inaccurate misconceptions the world has.
What's really fun is that the makers have this fun narrative with pen and paper. First they observe something and then hypothesize what it is that causes it, and then draw various hypothesis and draw arrows to the observation, then they ask people questions and update their hypothesis. I think this is a very effective way of presenting logic to the uninitiated.
What's great about this documentary is that its a layman(comedian) going around asking questions. So while while he himself isn't a credible source, the documentary is, its quite remarkable that he manages to set up interviews with top scientists around the world. The end result is that so we don't have to take his word for anything, much of the evidence is presented to us by their originators.
I can only recommend this if you are interested in gender though. If someone isn't interested in the question its quite possible he or she will be bored. From a filming perspective its nothing special either, its run of the mill. I am giving this a perfect rating because if you are interested in the questions posed by this documentary, then the answers are quite conclusively found in here, and I can't give below a perfect rating to a 45 min exposition which may definitively answer what the empirical and theoretical evidence shows.
