Smart, dramatic, excellent

Simply put, the most thrilling hour of television I've seen, since season 2 of The West Wing.

The events of this episode have been a long time coming (a very long time) but oh boy was it worth the wait. Fireworks from start to finish, lightening fast dialogue, old and new story lines masterfully interwoven and subtext galore.

Very few successful shows have ever had the audacity to mess with the status quo to such a degree as this. It's exhilarating and unsettling at the same time – I'm really not sure who to root for anymore. Can't wait to figure it out though!

Warning: Spoilers
I've just watched this episode and I'm still under its influence, i also red some reviews..they were amazing and gave justice to this show, well i didn't want to talk about the details of the episode but i have to complete 10 lines...So i will share some of my favorite moments lets start with 1-The opening that stresses on stability which is the only thing you'll never see throughout this episode. 2-Kalinda really made me think that she was leaving too. 3-And of course Peter being "turned on" in the middle of the storm and the very fast love scene with Alicia which i will have to say was made in a very classy and unoffensive way like all the similar scenes on the show unlike most of the other shows fail to do. and the list goes on and on like almost 43 minutes long All i can say "and i guess many of The Good Wife fans can too" is : I feel blessed to be a fan and I'm glad i didn't listen to some people a few years back who thought of this show as "cold and have no fun in it" but i figured out that you need to be loyal to it in order to enjoy all the hilarious (in many cases mute) moments P.S:I ow whoever invented torrent a big big thank you for making this available.

Hitting the Fan: Civil War At Its Best ****
edwagreen27 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This superb episode on this great show was one of the best episodes I've ever viewed on television, including other series.

All hell breaks loose when will discovers what Alicia, Cary and others have been up to.

The two groups attempt to use the legal system to gain each of its objectives. Politics also comes into view.

Back stabbing was never better as shown here as you don't know for sure which way Kalinda shall go in this apparent tug of war.

Even Diane appears to stray back and forth.

Our Governor-elect sure knows how to pull the political punches. He doesn't seem to hesitate in using his office to show that he means business.

Agos/Florrick begins in Hitting the fan :) powerful drama/performances A++

they say that every civil war has a beginning and some relationships as great as they are together must come to a end. As Cary told Diane that this is not a camp. THIS IS ABOUT BUSINESS.

first i will start off by saying that i have a lot of points of view on this episode. i read a lot of reviews on IMDb on this episode and i will start off by saying that this is one of the best episodes that the show the good wife has done so far. my wife even agrees that she was not into the show at first but after watching the latest episodes its gotten really good. here is why it gotten good.

I love the hypocrisy that diane and will's relationship with their firm is all about. lets start off with Diane. she hates betrayal for stealing clients but its okay for lockhart and gardner to steal money away from the 4 years assoicates from their hard work by not making them partner. Will hates betrayal because Alicia was planning on leaving and there was lies and back stabbing yet this is how diane and will built their firm on the lies and back stabbing that they did to get to the top of their game. i think that alicia realize that after her promotion as partner was treated like it was nothing after she found out that the other 4 years were getting the same thing promotion that alicia thought she was the only one that was getting the promotion. i think that will was in denial about alicia not being happy and that she was going to leave the firm.

Will i think was more hurt by the fact that he has feelings her alicia but this is what he does when he doesn't get his way. i think that alicia did the smart move by leaving to show that her hard work was not going to be treated like a whatever just because will thought he own her after no one wanted to take her in as a lawyer. Yes will did get her back on her feet but this is still a business discuss and a personal one. I think with Cary its about money and respect. I think with alicia its about respect and will didn't show her respect because he thought as long as he has his top lawyer working for him will had nothing to worry about.

Josh charles gives a emmy winning performance and the cast was amazing in this episode.

why didn't kalinda get fired when will found out about the alicia and the gang leaving? and i do agree that the office space part is kinda silly why didn't alicia get peter the governor to help find some office space?

a few silly moments in the episode but i am sure that will is going to have a lot of women leaving the firm because alicia is a great lawyer. so i am hoping alicia and cary beat will and diane at their own game.

Pathetic

I absolutely disagree with the other reviews on this show. I was disgusted with Alicia's character for the last few shows. How can she not get how wrong it is to turn her back on someone who gave her a chance. The way she handles everything was petty and immature and to be honest, in complete contradiction to what we love about her character. Her lack of acceptance of what she has done is absurd and the thought of her working with a bunch of 20 -something years old, leaves her looking like she is settling and desperate. The unethical decisions by her husband, not to mention corruption and illegal use of power, makes me lose all respect for him as well. They care only about themselves and that is not in line with who their characters have been throughout the show. I was super disappointed and this was one of the first times that it was easy to turn Netflix off. I think I will take a break from this show for a while.

Utterly disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
I was not sure whether to title my review "LOL" or "Utterly disappointing", and I chose the second because actually, this episode was a big joke but unfortunately not a funny one. I do understand that producers may feel the need to drag the series ad infinitum while there is a profit to be made, and that plot twists may be needed in order to keep the pace and the attention of the audience, but...Should that happen at the expense of the very essence of the character we have cherished and loved for almost five seasons? In fact, the plot twists do not make any sense, they do not tally with the motivations of the character of Alicia Forrick and her true soul. They writers have managed to destroy her in one episode. All this time, we were led to believe that Alicia was a woman in love with her former flame and looking for a way out of her marriage. We were constantly reminded that she did not really love her husband and that she was sticking around because of her kids and the life they have built together. We came to sympathize with her situation. We saw Will agonize over her love for various seasons and constantly miss on other opportunities because of her. Guess what, the producers are laughing out loud...At us! Because unfortunately, the Alicia that we meet in this episode is a cold blooded one (and pretty unpleasant for the most), who decides to stab her friend, mentor and lover in the back and surprisingly rediscovers after five seasons how much in love she is with her husband, coincidentally at a moment when she desperately needs help for her new venture. As for Peter Florrick, his character was fine until now. There were even a couple of moments in the previous episodes when he seemed almost noble. Unfortunately, in this one he comes across as the guy who uses his power to benefit his wife. Somehow inconsistent too with what we have seen so far. Again, I do not have anything against plot twists, I just wish they made sense and tallied with the essence and motivations of the characters involved.

One last thing...I really hope that if the producers are thinking of suppressing Will's character, they give him a classy exit (although I would not hold my hopes too high after what I have seen in this episode). Also, it will be interesting to see if they will manage to turn Evil Alicia into Saint Alicia again. Or maybe they are thinking of changing the title of the series altogether...
